I have noticed my

Asus P6X58D Premium
i7 950 (non-OC)
12GB Corsair RAM
2 X eVGA GTX 460
Windows 7 64-bit

rig slowdown during folding more than usual over the past few months.
Now, the rig hangs occasionally. Frozen screen, mouse moves but clicking on anything does nothing. Three fingered salute has no effect. Have to power the hardware down manually. I'm trying to remember what software I used to troubleshoot my 2 X GTX 260's on another rig. I suspect the GPUs because of the slowdowns and some tearing in the graphics display. Also, one of the GPUs sometimes has extended estimated completion times (well beyond the normal).

Do you overclock the gpu's? it could cause a hard lock o.0 also do you have sli on them? I notice with my video cards if they're ever in sli on accidnet while folding my computer is unusable

No overclock at all. SLi has never been an issue for me. I have one rig running SLi and folding full time.
