Need backup overclocking RAM

Hey guys, A friend of mine has a really old mobo (Asus P5N32e-SLI Plus - here ). He has a E6420 @ 3.2GHz (400x8) since he bought the mobo, his XMS2 are @ 800MHz (default speed), therefore he has a 1:1 ratio in his overclock. What he asked me, and I'm asking you, is this: the motherboard specs says it supports RAM up to 800MHz and he feels his overclock is limited to 3.2GHz if he is to maintain the 1:1 ratio. He knows his RAM can still be overclocked (it's running @ stock speeds and clocks) but he wanted to know if he can overclock the RAM even though the mobo only supports up to 800Mhz. Thanks!

again its a 50/50 my old mobo said it only supported 1333 and i had my ram running at 1600 sometimes it will sometimes it wont looking at the manufacturers website it says this - Dual-channel DDR2 800/667/533 - 1333**/1066/800/533MHz (** available when CPUs are ready for 1333MHz FSB) so it depends on your cpu more
