Hello Everyone, I have some questions regarding how to overclock my CPU and my Ram. Could anyone who have similar motherboard and setup please help me overclock my CPU. I Have a: Asus Rampage 4 Extreme Intel i7 3960x 32Gb Corsair 1866 mhz Ax1200 power supply Sli 690 I am trying to overclock but it seem like i am doing it wrong. My Memory speed is set at 1333 MHZ instead of the factory clock 1866 mhz, when I tried to set it at 1866 the system become unstable and it crash and give me BSOD. I am on water cooling, My temperatures on idle for the 3960x is about 22-31 C depend on the core. Please show me how to overclock, Thanks you.

Put memory to xmp profile number 1. Done. The cpu is very easy to overclock. You can run up to 4.5 to 4.6 just on auto I should think. After that you have to start making adjustments. If you tell me what clock you are trying to get to on the cpu I should be able to help you dial it in.

Hey Doorules, I read your link that you showed me. I tried to use the Normal Profile in the UEFI. after I selected the normal profile option, and saved it. My PC restart it self and will not boot. I have to Unplug the power core and plug it back in again. the pc boot up and it say that my Overclock fail and nothing was save. Do you have any idea of what i can do?

You should be able to turn on xmp profile #1 and boot straight to windows. Can I have a link to the exact ram you have please?

It has xmp profiles built into it. If you have watched the over clocking video just try xmp #1 and see if it will boot to windows. Are you able to boot up on default settings? If so just try everything auto, and what bios do you have on the mobo?

I am able to boot into window on default. At default the cpu runs at 3.3GHz and the ram downclock and run at 1333mhz. The system will boot into window just fine. But if I choose normal profile, the PC will not boot. it will not post up the bios either. I have to reset the bios for it to boot up again. I am able to change the memory speed to 1866mhz, but the system become very unstable and sometimes i get the BSOD. Also i am on 1305 bios. Thanks again

Same bios I am on, OK. When on auto you should be at 3.9, not 3.3, do you have turbo turned off, sounds like it. If so turn it back on in bios. What do you mean by normal profile? With turbo on, everything to default you should be at 3.9. Set ram to xmp #1 profile and try for windows.

Yes sorry it is 3.9. You know there are some pre-made profile that I can use. Such as gamer, normal and extreme. I set Ram to SMP #1 and I tried to boot. on the boot sequence it give me an error. "System Unstable, your CPU might be 12X time slowed down"

Using that much ram you may need to add the auxiliary power connection to the memory. It's the white connector I marked with a green square around it.
I will no longer do business with EVGA.

You should have one in the bag of goodies from your AX1200. That's where I got mine from.
