Strange how they will be using source, drain, and gate leads (common for MOSFET transistors) instead of your normal Emitter, Base, and Collector leads used by common transistors today, wondering how they will be different functionally. I would love to see vacum tubes make a comeback though! However, I dont see your common TO 92 or TO 220 transistors going anywhere anytime soon.

Interesting. But vaccuum tubes haven't gone anywhere, sort of. They are still being used in guitar amplifiers. The sound of a tube is more desireable for musicians. Not just old Amos either. New amps are still designed with vaccuum tubes.

You beat me too it, vacuum tubes haven't gone anywhere!  To me, nothing beats the sound of a good tube amp.

mosfets are more efficient  then transistors...
it would make sense to create a fancy tubes and keep the efficiency as well :)

All the problems of the world could be settled easily if men were only willing to think. The trouble is that men very often resort to all sorts of devices in order not to think, because thinking is such hard work.

not the same functionality however. mosfets are voltage driven at the gate while transistors are current driven.

this is nice to hear technology coming back so in the future when we swap processors will we call it tube rolling XD
