i just got the card from newegg and i was wondering if theres going to be back plates for the ftw?? i might get a gtx 680 back plate and put that on lol

    There is no backplate for the FTW version of the 670, only for the vanilla model. I've heard that the 680 backplate will fit though since they are the same pcb.

      There is no backplate that says 670 to fit the 670 FTW PCB.
      The GTX 680 backplate will fit, but why would you? It will have the wrong info written on it.

            just so it looks cool lol its only 19.99 on evga so its no biggie if there ever is a ftw backplate ill def, get it and sell the 680 back plate to my friend

                    I have even suggested that EVGA sell the "680" backplate before the 680 logo is printed.  Customer service just stated that at this time there is not a 670 FTW backplate.  Come on EVGA, skip a step and make the 670 FTW crowd happy.  The 670 FTW logo would be nice but a blank one will work.

                                              Its the same as a heatsink, absorbs heat. But the thermal difference is very minimal.
                                               
                                              The primary usage would be looks or for protection.
