Diablo 3 = Quad SLI GTX 590s @ 100*C

Hey guys, i'm kinda worried when running Diablo 3 on my PC, since the game isn't able to us Surround, i play it windowed so i can access the desktop at the same time. but the temps on Precision X show that the GPUs hitting 100*C GPU 1 - 100*C GPU 2 - 98*C GPU 3 - 99*C GPU 4 - 100*C If i play it on the 3 monitors, which it will just show on the middle monitor and the Right, Left monitor black, it shows about 85*C-90*C Before Playing and installing Diablo 3, i played alot of BF3 and my temps on that was 75*C to 85*C depending on the map. but now its all hitting above 95*C on all GPUs... Should i keep a fire extinguisher near me? but also, these cards were awesome, i feel that they aren't gonna last me any time soon. and i just got my RMA'd one last month since it was showing green Pixels/ CPU - 990X OC'd @ 4.9 Corsair H100 Corsair Dominator GT 12GB Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD 1 TB HDD Corsair AX1200 PSU EVGA GTX 590 Quad SLI Asus Rampage III Extreme Black Edition Corsair 650D case

Don't dual GPUs run hot anyway? And 2 of them together hotter? Does D3 really require Quad SLI?

well i don't thinbk any game requires quad SLI but i never expected all Cores going to 100*C, i turned off one card and runs the same but still very high 100*C temps, Before getting Quad SLI, i had my one 590 go up to 91*C on BF3 with low settings on 3 monitors, take off the 3 monitos and it sat at 69*C with one monitor 1920 by 1080

Diablo 3 does not support SLI, let alone quad SLI. Blizzard has stated that it can cause problems or even prevent the game from running. I turned all my cards off but one when playing. You will not benefit in any way shape or form from having more than 1 GPU playing Diablo 3:)

Hi, I had similar problems first with 3-way sli on 580 3GB Classified. The GPU utilisation was maxed so the cards was running hot.. not that hot though :b Anyway, Helifax at wsgf forum http://www.wsgf.org/dr/diablo-iii/en have made a fix for NV Surround, letting you play D3 in fullscreen so that Sli is actuallay enabled. (Sli doesnt support "Windowed mode" in any game) It works fine for me and now the GPU utilization is about 20-35% across the cards in 5760*1080 resolution, and the temps are normal. Game is nice in nv surround but some scene areas does not render in the far out of the screens in some "outdoor" scenes. But other than that, yes its nice, and you see much more of the playfield, wich my friends doesn't see... have to tell them where to go (when co-op'ing) sometimes because they cant see enemies and stuff like i do :b

Those temps seems high, either not enough air flow or the cards heat sinks are plugged up with dust... i run D3 with surround and my cards never go above 40C even though I'm on water, BF3 i hit about 51C. D3 shouldnt tax 590's that much. You can also take temp reading, fresh air in and out of card and see what the difference is . good luck

Dude, yes you should have a fire extinguisher next to you. Your cards are having problems if there above 90C*, let alone 100C*. That will kill there life. Even maxed out, they should not be very much higher then Battlefield 3.

there not hitting 100*C anymore thanks to anteronoid. with wide screen fixer i am able to use the 3 monitors 5760 by 1080. and not in Windowed anymore. Temps are about 85*C now, thanks again Anternoid. Technically i can't really turn off SLI with this 590 right? so i'm just leaving it quad sli, too much work for taking it off for one game and putting it back on for another.
