For those of you with pre-orders, Jacob mentioned in this thread: (Post 12) (Ugh, forgot the sub-50 posts no link rule) EVGA is making an effort to expedite the shipping dates from the original estimate of "end of the month." While I'm sure there are no promises here, I thought I'd make sure this got shared to the main thread, to cheer up those of you who are bummed about getting their 690's in June.

Watch out for this Ebay GTX 690 Scam! Or at least I think it is a scam. The auction title is: " EVGA nVidia GTX 690 BNIB " and it shows the same exact picture from PCMag's review of the GTX 690. The poster, evilegg2012, states that "This is Brand new , taken out out box to show how it looks" and he has 5 GTX 690s. evilegg2012 also has 0 feedback. Be careful with this one.

hawk269 Just reviewed techpowerup and could not find anything regarding a 4gb per core 690. The only evga news story in the last 5 days was about the FTW editions of the 680. Sorry I could not tell you where I found the link to this news piece right here: http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/27033-evga-launches-its-own-gtx-690-graphics-cards. Did a google search and found it highlighted as visited before so its the one. Interesting that they mention there will be or are three 690 models. The standard, Signature, and a "Special" version..

Man it's strange to be CPU bottlenecked for the first time....ever. I've got a 1100T overclocked to 4.1ghz so it's between a 2500k and a 2600k - closer to the latter. With a vertex 3 and a GTX 690, I'm actually feeling the CPU as a bottleneck. Its not that the Phenom X6 1100T is a slow CPU. It's just that all the games don't know what to do with all the cores. Most games front load the first 2-3 cores and then disregard the rest, maxing out the first couple and thus, bottleneck. Stupid game developers :( EDIT: The 690 is just great. I feel like I'm not tapping the full potential of this card with vsync kicking in in most games. The only gripe I have is the electrical whine produced by my card while under load. I don't know if that's normal to the 690's. It's certainly not what I expected from a $1000 card.

jincuteguy Do you remember what was the time newegg and evga had them yest? May 9th Yes, it was at 645pm EST and than eVGA had it a min later. I only did it twice because i ordered a 680 from the egg and i got a message 2 hours later telling me thay had sold too many and would be refunding me and i didnt want that to happen again! It appears that from 3-6 PST is when u wanna start F5ing like a mad man. I actually got my reciept info 1 min before i got my auto notification telling me the 690 was in stock. It just isnt fast enough for the time being. It took 3 days to get this card, and now i have 2, go figure. Im selling one for retail price though to help out my fellow gamers.

jincuteguy I added it to cart like 10mins ago, but when i was filling out the cc infos, it sold out. You really thought they would last 10 minutes?!?! These have been selling out in less than 90 SECONDS after they go live, every single day. If you're trying to get one, you need to be F5'ing, and as soon as you see one, click and type as fast as you can (you should already be logged into your EVGA account) to fill out your CC info and place your order. Otherwise, you have no chance of getting one for the foreseeable future.

You are reading that wrong. It came up 10 minutes ago (more at this point) and sold out while he was entering his CC number. The same thing just happened to me. I had all my other info saved. From the buy now+ click, to entering my cc number was less than 10 seconds. It then tells me my cart is empty. It is very annoying to have something pulled from your cart while you are entering your purchase info. Perhaps EVGA should give a 2 or 3 minute window, like show ticket brokers do.

Well if I did read it wrong...then Even with 670s released and in SLI performing really, really close to a 690 and being $200 cheaper....that's not stopping people from gobbling these up WITHIN 10 Seconds?!?! That is just nuts.

It feels like waiting for concert tickets and having them disappear seconds upon availability. I thought it was pretty to 680sli (within 95%), only less microstutter.

yea they should revise their system man, like seriously. Add a 1 or 2 minutes after you add the item in the cart for the customer to fill out the infos rather than whoever typed the fastest get them. This is not really fair for slow typers ppl.

YES! after 3 days of F5 I pulled it off and got the 690!! I literally added the card 1 second after it showed up as available, then had the address and CC entered within 25 more seconds, for a submittal that lasted under a minute. When I came back to the screen after this time, they were already sold out. Forget the email notification guys, you have to F5 and add it within a few seconds of its availability.
