YEAHHHhh finally got it! i was refreshing non stop and even got to the middle of the transaction before i got the email notification. i think it all took me less than 30 sec from start to finish. when i came back to check there was none. so yeah, i think it lasted like a minute. After refreshing more than 1000 times yesterday the whole day and today as well, it was worth it.

I was to the pick shipping and I got a "-3 in stock" error, or something like that right when I hit process. I guess it is on to tomorrow. But congrats!!!

I got one by pre-entering an order for something else and adding the 690 to it within seconds of the email. The CC was already input so it took me about 15 seconds. So now I can order the rest of my system! Aaand ... now Newegg is out of the cpu I wanted.

I got mine as well. Was reading a book to my kids when I heard the Iphone.Bolted to the desk and had everything already filled out ..it was just a matter of 3 clicks.I also called Evga CS right away to verify /confirm my order, hoping this will help with a faster shipping. The card was OOS as soon as I placed my order , and as I said I finished the order in 20 seconds or less from the time I got the "in stock" email to the conf email. I don't think they had more than 10 ..the item was OOS in 1 min or less

Wow never even got the email. Good to know the system works for someone. I would love to get one of these or even a couple 4 gig 680s, but the supply on these cards is just pathetic. Nvidia needs to get this fixed right away. So far the 600 series is just a paper launch for all, but a very lucky few. BTW I notice Newegg has lowered their price to 999.99!

And then they will be releasing (according to the rumors) the Gtx-670 this week as well. With all the stock issues, seems a little weird to introduce 2 more cards to the lineup within 3 weeks when you cannot keep supply in-stock of the original 680...then there are all the non-reference ones now as well. Look at Evga's product page for the 600 family, there are 10 different 600 GPU's listed now.

It appears NewEgg caved and started charging $999.99, even though they're still out of stock. Who says negative publicity doesn't work?

This ordering on day 1 per-order and not being able to have my order fulfilled is killing me. I'm looking at Newegg for a purchase now since I cannot buy from EVGA direct. To think I have to wait 21 more days after staying up all night being the loyal EVGA customer that I am is disheartening. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on two other 680's in SLI and call it a day. I wish EVGA would come out and say what's holding up our orders when there is obviously orders in stock. Is there a check box I can mark that states I'll forfeit the t-shirt and mouse pad for my order tomorrow? End of the month I'm going to be on a business trip 23-24 May and then Memorial weekend on vacation away from home. If it comes anytime between that time I will have $1000 at my door step waiting for someone to steel it from me. Ack this waiting is killing me. Maybe I should try for a FTW 4GB and cancel my pre-order that's turned into a 'thanks for the pre-order now wait 30 days' purchase of a grand order.

So unlike two 2gb cards in sli where each core has 2gb of vram and not a cumalative sum of 4gb, the gtx 690 is a true 4gb card?

So if I cram two 2gb cards into one slot I still have a card that has 2gb of usable ram in sli unlike a true 4gb 680 ftw card that really has 4gb available per core even in sli. I am asking because the specs say 2gb per core for the 690 and i'm curious if this is marketing exagerating the total ram.thanks.

It is 2GB per 'core' or GPU as stated. Any 4GB references relating to the 690 are aggregate memory. Thus, per GPU, it has half as much memory as a 4GB GTW card. If they ever made a double memory version of 690 then it'd be advertised as 4GB per core or 8GB aggregate.

fabbasi so why shoud i give a hoot about gtx 690? when i can get gtx 680ftw. Because a 690 is faster than a single 680, and is less power hungry and takes up one less slot than 2x 680s. Buying 2x 680 FTW 4GB cards is great if you need the extra memory, but its also another $260 and eats another slot vs 1x 690. Its all about choices/tradeoffs.

I thought that the Gtx690 is almost if not just as fast as two 680s in Sli. The pluses are less watts and saves a slot vs two cards which is great if you want room for a raid card, sound card, tv card, etc. Sure theres even room to do quad sli but I bet you wont even need all that gpu power until your at triple monitor resolution otherwise the gpu utilization wont be great. So would it not have made sense that the 690 would benefit from more vram? Holding out for a 4gb 680 until furthur notice.. thanks.

They both occupy 2 slots.

I found a couple interesting articles worth checking out. Anandtech did a review on the 690 saying that the (2x2gb) vram is playing it too close to the chest more or less. Then I read that Evga may be coming out with their own version of the 690. Read that on techpowerup. Sorry no links.

Do we have a exact date for the signature edition yet? Thinking about canceling and just waiting for a 4GB version if it's going to be a month or so.

Just reviewed techpowerup and could not find anything regarding a 4gb per core 690. The only evga news story in the last 5 days was about the FTW editions of the 680.
