What is the difference between the Q270 and the Q270 SE? eBay seller 'green-sum' is selling them. I would link directly to the monitors but, the forum won't let me...

I ordered the Q270 SE today, not sure the exact difference between the two. I'm just hoping I don't get any dead/stuck pixels, but thats the risk in ordering one of these. I'll post info on it once I get it and do some tests.

I believe the SE version is the version without the speakers built in. I also read today that they got approved to build the OC PCB. So people may be able to buy those separately later.

hmmmz you should go to the overclock thread they have many of the models and their differences discussed. usually its a difference between having tempered glass in the front or not. i believe people have been staying away from the tempered glass due to many of them having 1 or 2 pieces of dust stuck between the panel and glass. which effectively is impossible to remove.

I e-mail an ebay company that sells them; Hi, I am wondering if this monitor is overclockable to 120Hz? Apparently the 'B' series monitors can get up to 97Hz-120Hz, but the non 'B' series can only get to 60Hz-67Hz I am running two watercooled GTX480's in SLi Thanks

They replied; Hello I am sorry about that. Monitor using 2B PCB can be overclockable. I can't check version of Monitor. Monitor can use 2B or 2C PCB. I asked manufactor about this. They use 2B or 2C accordng to stock of part. Someome say Serial number "Q270SE2B1......." has 2B PCB. But, "B" in serial number means manufacted month. A(JAN), B(FEB), C(Mar), D(Apr). Manufactor don't send accurate information which monitor use 2B. And All I have is manufacted on Mar and Apr. Thanks

So, I purchased one on ebay today and the shipping said that it would be here no later than next moday 4/30, so I thought, great! Now the ad says it will be here between May 10th-May-25th. I am gonna be super mad if they screwed me on this one. Contacted the seller and waiting for response, but I'm not waiting a month for this thing to get here. Buyers beware of my experience so far.

i mean I understand that many people really want these monitors overclocked. but to be honest at maxish settings... 95% of the people ordering these monitors wont be able to maintain 120FPS... due to my vram issues, I usually run my own monitor at 60hz majority of the time. so definitely think about this and decide if its even important to have this feature.

Most sellers offer a pixel perfect product in addition to the standard ones but this does not extend to "stuck pixels" so realistically it is just a way to get some more money. Personally I took the risk of buying a regular monitor and got lucky with no dead or stuck pixels. On the note of SE vs regular. I ordered a Q270SE from bigclothcraft and it has speakers so these korean manufacturers seem to just box up whatever comes off the assembly line.

It was actually just a error on their part. The seller has shipped it, which I am amazed at because the time for delivery 8 hours after I bought it said end of may. But the seller contacted me and said it was just a mistake and that it has already been shipped it. So, it looks like it will be here by next week.

Yea, as long as you choose expedited shipping it should take no more than 3 business days from date they ship. If anyone has seller questions, seriously go to the OCN forum, we have like 370 pages of info on these there, including trusted buyers, and specific model information as well as what the b models are and why you can't get them any more.

on first page of this thread. i can't post links apparently though, so can't get you a link. I sold my 27" acer 3d monitor today, debating about getting one of these catleaps now or sticking with my original plan with getting a lightboost 3d monitor(benq 3d monitor or the asus 27" 3d)... decisions...

I got my monitor last night (Pics to come) I was kinda scared, the seller didn't double box it. Turns out these guys package their monitors better than dell does their $1300 U3011's Anyway, I got it out and all setup, like most people said, it is pretty wobbly on the stock stand. Power plug is a bit goofy....mini-din anyone? Ill let you know how it looks once I get my machine back together and have something to push this monitor. That being said, you can tell where/how they made this monitor so much more cheap than dell. I kinda wanna see what it might look like de-bezeled.

The shipping is the fastest I have ever seen. I originally thought it was gonna be a month or so because thats what the shipping said on ebay, but I ordered it Tuesday and its out for delivery today which is Thursday. Two days from order to receive from Korea to USA. Insanely fast. I'll give a small review of the unit once it arrives.

Ok, well got the unit and all I can say is amazing. It is huge. I have owned a 24" 1920x1200 display before, but this is insane. Although, I just upgraded from 1080 so, ya its much bigger. Like everyone else is saying, the stand is the weakest part. But no dead pixels, the packaging was really done well, bubble wrapped the outside of the box. This is a great display for the price. Now, I just have to upgrade my GPU because my 5870 wont play this res on Bf3 ultra.

These monitors are A- quality rating which is why they are going to these companies instead of Dell or Apple. THat is not to say you can't get lucky and get a great monitor for a killer price.
