Pull apart as in remove some screws and then take apart the shell. If you click on the OCN link that was posted above there is a step by step guide. It is under "What you get" -> "Stand Removal" in the OP.

So many pages already on that thread...lots of great info but kinda tough to find something specifically:) I am considering 3 of these for Surround/Eyefinity. The stand I have right now says it holds up to 3 x 28" monitors. I saw that someone said it measured like 25.5 inches straight across? Might someone have that info handy? I have 3 24 inch monitors that run 22 inches straight across currently. Looks like I have about 3 inches I can move the monitor to the side to give me room.

So best bang for the buck. This would be a good choice for purely gaming?

Tomorrow I have 2 x 6950 Sapphire OC (non-reference cards coming). I have a 28" Hanns G HH281 monitor. Should I buy one more and game at 3840x1200 or buy one of these puppies? Which would give me a better gaming experience?

Three works because your peripheral vision sorta makes up what would be in place of the bezel if they aren't enormous (then there's no hope) and having it in the middle of your face makes it stick out enormously.

Re:Yamakasi Catleap 27" LED 2560x1440 WQHD S-IPS for around 350 bucks

Insane. Just insane. Had heard about these before, but not that they could overdrive the display! I bought the HP zr2740w for $630, identical monitor to these... mine arrived and the entire panel was defective and wouldn't display anything. Now I'm awfully tempted by one of these, as I've wanted a 100-120hz S-IPS display! Prices also seem to be going down, with lots starting at $345 with expedited international shipping on eBay. I am currently browsing the OCN thread to find out, but could anyone please provide details on how or where to buy these 2B overclockable versions? Kanti Would American Express 1yr ext. warranty cover this ?... I know we are all gamers, but how is the color accuracy on this thing? I've designed webpages for someone before and the colors were terrible on their cheapy LCD. Will it display the color that gets printed? Is the LED lighting better than CCFL on DELL? White LED sets won't allow the same color gamut CCFL's can offer. You'd have to find an RGB LED set if you want 100% or greater of the Adobe RGB color gamut. White LED displays at best will hit between 60-80% of the color gamut. The zr2740w is identical to this display and was able to get 76% after a professional calibration. A wide range panel combined with CCFL's can give you a over 100% by comparison. That's why monitors like the U2711 still bother to use them, it got around 98% after a calibration. As for American Express Warranty protection... I can't find anything in the terms that disqualifies this monitor. As long as it's bought for personal reasons and not "professional" or "business" use, and bought with AmEx it should work.

More than likely you wont be able to get the overclockable monitor. They were limited stock. If you find one, its probably going to be a used unit. As far as warranties, there is always small print about where the item is purchased. This is not an item that can be purchased in the US. It is an international purchase and most 3rd party warranties wont honor that.

Who sells the OC versions, or who did if they are no longer available? Only see the regualr SE models for sale. Also, what are the sellers you prefer. If you can provide a link that would be awesome because I'm gonna buy one today I think.

Im pretty sure that 1 685GTX would handle 2D surround just fine at that resolution. I think they only come in 4GB versions, and have the brute force to back it up. Gona wait for that. I want 3 of these now, but next year, they are supposedly supposed to be releasing the new 3840x2160 Native resolution monitors. But i doubt initially they will be anywhere near $350. But if for some reason they were, i would be sad. But regardless, it would be hard to regret the decision. Going from 1080P to 1440P was like the jump from 720P to 1080P. Its pretty huge. I have been gaming on LCD monitors forever too, so this being a LED its so much brighter and the colors are so much more accurate too. Mind bogeling.

So is there an auction where I can buy one that's guaranteed not to have any dead pixels? But I pay more

Macros LOL Johnny! Yeah, if I ever get SLI 4GB 680's and another 2 of these monitors. I think my fiance would leave me! Yup, I hear you. I think it's called "Tech Envy"? I have that problem constantly. "You spend more time building those things than you spend with me!" Ooops!

killuchen So is there an auction where I can buy one that's guaranteed not to have any dead pixels? But I pay more There are some ebay auctions that state no dead pixel gaurantee or pixel perfect, and they are priced $50-$100 more than the others. But I still think its hit or miss because it gets shipped quite a long way and has a lot of opportunity to get thrown around creating dead pixels. The sellers will take it back, but you have to pay the $100+ shipping to get it back to them. The amazon.com sellers got to me in perfect condition via UPS. And from the OCN posts, there are 3 or 4 ebay sellers that have been consistently sending them without pixels being bad. Youll have to read up on there. The first post is updated with sellers. No telling whether they actually open them and test them prior to shipping though. And I think on that resolution, the manufacturers consider 2-3 dead pixels, acceptable.
