jj509 I just wanted to comment on this. I myself just upgraded to Ivybridge. But the "main" reason was because my particular P55 board only had 4 working sata ports and 4 total usb ports. I could only OC my i5 760 from 2.8 to 3.47 without really having to bump up the voltage and seeing major spikes in temps. @ 3.47 I would usually sit around 55-58 C Since I've upgraded to Ivy I OC'd it to 4.1Ghz on air and it barley goes above 48 C with the exact same cooler I had on P55. I now have 12 usb ports, 4 of those being usb-3. I now have 8 sata ports and can finally use sata 3 speeds with my new SSD. The overall upgrade with the mobo and CPU only cost me 370ish after taxes. Compared to how much it would of cost me to go X79 I'm glad I went with IVY. I never plan to go SLI and will be getting a 680 or may wait till the 700 series comes around (my 460 handles everything but BF3 really well @ 1080p) Along with the less power consumption overall when idle or light use really makes my wallet happy when I get my electric bill. Besides a GPU upgrade in the near future I'm set with my platform. When ever I get that itch to upgrade again when the next platform comes out I'll just remind myself I have a lot of headroom for OCing :D So glad to hear that you made a decision that is right for you...namely Ivy. I think it will be a wonderful platform that will serve a great number of people very well:) When you get a chance, take some pictures and share!
