Need a new fan for my computer. Friday, April 13, 2012 2:06 PM (permalink)
The top Rosewill Challenger case has been starting to rattle and I would to buy a new one. I prefer one more on the quieter side and has good air flow. It needs to be 140mm and will be an outtake fan on the top of the case..

This is the current fan I am looking at. I don't want to pay too much just for a fan.

You should post this in the want to buy section. I seen a member selling some 120mm & 140 mm fans. Good luck.

I suggest this one, it's a bit expensive, but you get a cool fan with long performance and fluid dynamic bearing that make it perfect to stay in horizontal...

If you want to buy from newegg, go with Xigmatek.  Better performance and reliability than CMs and many other cheap fans.

If you're okay with ordering from elsewhere, Yate Loon has the best value.

Go with the Sycthe Gentle Typhoons, especially if using with a cooler/rad that needs a lot of air pushed through it. They A-15 (120mm) fan pushes 1.65m3/h and 58.3CFM @ 28db. I can not say enough good about them. Saw a good 8 degree drop opposed to the stock H70 Corsairs.

140mm was one of the OP's requirements, and so was a more affordable an.  I wish they had 140mm GentleTyphoons though in various RPMs... sadly the Thermalright TY-140, which is the best practical 140mm fan and costs under $15, doesn't use 140mm fan mounts and is 160mm in length so that's out of the picture.  The Noctua NF-P14 also does not use 140mm fan mounts if that catches your eye.  Also I just checked the price on the Silverstone AP141, the best practical 140mm fan that uses 140mm fan mounts.  $31 on newegg, LOL!  Yeah man go with Xigmateks or better yet, Yate Loons from Petras.
