Don't be so hard on EVGA. What clock would make you happy? 1300 Mhz? If you hit that you would only be getting a 1-2 higher FPS in games at the most. When it boils down to 40-50 MHz, it's really not that big of a deal.
GPU: 4-Way SLI GTX Titan's (1202 MHz Core / 3724 MHz Mem) with EK water blocks and back-plates

MB: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme with EK full board water block
RAM: 16 GB 2400 MHz Team Group with Bitspower water blocks

    yapchagi,

ANY artifacting = instability or unstable clocks

thanks. I managed to max OC the card to GPU 1251 mhz and MEM 3548 mhz with zero artifact running OC Scanner X for 1 hour in 1920x1080 window mode.
That's the best I could do. Seriously, these 5 phase & 6+8 pin connector is a complete useless addition.

Now, look at this so-called...secrets. My Hydro Copper secret is to add +10 mhz GPU clock offset...YEAH SECRETS ALLRIGHT!?!?!???!?

Hahah, I didn't even see that it is specifically advertised for overclocking potential and headroom. This makes me think of an automobile manufacturer boosting a car to within an inch of its life so it has nice 0-60 time in stock configuration, but implying there is room for further improvement.

I'm probably still going to buy it

Yapchagi, they came out with a precision x update for the bug you have been having.
Go to the forum section for precision x and get the patch for it.
      Hope this helps you.

I checked it and the bug is PrecisionX does not apply the OC clock when Windows starts. It just simply goes back to stock clock.
But that is not the problem that I'm having right now.

Someone had said they thought of buying an SC+ and just putting a block on it.  I am on my second day of owning the card and only have had enough time to find the core speed of mine maxing at the stock speed.  In Heaven completely maxed out and running 2 other monitors my max core is 1176 from 1058 stock.  I will start on memory now, and then onto card two (still in box)  Not very happy. :(  System in mod rigs is outdated if you couldn't figure that out.

Hopefully u'll be able to OC that higher with better cooler. Which card do u own? SC or Hydro?

Dude I bench with everything at 1300 MHz. Not to mention play bf3 and fold@home

Got my EVGA GTX 680 Hydrocopper yesterday, and installed it right away.. pretty piece of Hardware :)

                Regarding OC:

I have almost the same results as Yapchagi - GPU maxing out at about + 30/40 Mhz offset (Heaven 3.0 crashes e.g.)

Memory i can set 500 Mhz offset without issue

I really hope to see EVGA Precision X to offer current at 1,21v - so some +50Mhz or even +100Mhz could be achieved... i wonder why the Hydrocopper does not reach 1300 Mhz? Shouldn't these Cards OC better?

Obviously not.. its just "some" cards with the Swiftech Cooler and Backplate, furthermore the Bios has higher Base and Boostclock set.. beside of this, same Chip and everything?

To be honest, i expected some more from it.. if i hear that some normal GTX 680 goes up to 1300 Mhz... hmm... some 1300+ would be really ok, and satisfying to me..

I assume you can if they offer 690HC in the step up program.

Only time a non reference card like a Hydro Copper is put on the list is when the demand is extremely low and supply is plentiful. If last series Dual GPU card is anything to go by, not even the air cooled 590 will be on the list.
Now, you can step up from any card, such as your HC Card, but not to any card.

Looking at the current step up list. Pretty much all 500 Cards are on the list, to even include the GTX580 Classified 3GB. But not a single HC card. http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

Should I do it though? It might save me $200 rather than going for 2x GTX 680 HC ($699.99 x2 = $1399.98).
                                A single GTX 690 HC would probably costs $1179.99 - $1199.99.

I hope the hydro copper for GTX 690 is black theme again. I just love black color. It matches my 800D case.

I really love the look of GTX 480 Hydro Copper. Imagine a card with SINGLE SLOT, the front looks like GTX 480 HC, backplate and top with LED just like 680 HC. OMG

Hello, Folks.  What's the final verdict?  Should I invest in the GTX 680 Hydro Copper?

I think if you want a 680 you should invest in whatever 680 you can get your hands on. They are impossible to come by right now.

It looks like 1/2" ID 3/4" OD Matte Black 45 degree rotary compression fittings by Bitspower.
You can get them from Sidewinder Computers.

Bitspower matte black 45 rotary +bitspower 1/2 3/4 compression fitting. I'm Italian and i bought them in Italy, in the US you can find them at PPcs, frozen cpu, sidewinder.

Hey guys I realize this is an old thread but I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a 680 hydro copper overclocking discussion/thread and this is just about all I could find.

I'm also having trouble with not being able to overclock my card pretty much at all.. anything over +20 mhz GPU will cause drivers to crash (screen will go black for a few seconds then resume as if the drivers reloaded).

So is the common belief pretty much that the stock 680 hydro copper is as far as this card can overclock?

                                                      Thanks a lot
