Awesome! :D I see one 24-pin.. + 2x 8-pin for cpu.. + 2x 6-pin for GPU-area... this board seems very hungry! :D a quick question... " The EVGA Z77 FTW motherboard supports PCI-E 3.0 performance via a PLX 8747 PCI-E 3.0 certified bridge chip. This allows the EVGA Z77 FTW to populate all PCI-E 3.0 slots at the maximum bandwidth possible. The PCI-E lane configuration is as follows: - 1 Card: x16
- 2 Cards: x16 – x16 (Slot 2 & Slot 4)
- 3 Cards: x8 - x16 - x16
- 4 Cards: x8 - x16 - x8 - x8
" If I use 3 or 4 cards.. I will exceed x32.. (x8+x16+x16 = x40 or x8+x16+x8+x8 = x40) This may be a noobish question, but how is that possible?

We use a PCI-e 3.0 bridge chip. Expect release in 30-45 days.

Hello, a pair of questions: 1) When will this become available for Step-Up? 2) Is this board also compatible with Z68 memory such as G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)? Thanks!

from the looks of it this board will take twice as much memory as the p67/z68 boards with the same processor. and run 4 way sli. has more power to everything on the board. would be a nice step up for the p67 and z68 guys. i might just pre order this. i just might.

EVGA normally posts a memory compatibility list shortly on or after release so keep an eye out for this

So a couple questions about the power connections: Can we use either 8-pin for the CPU, and can we use either 6-pin for the PCI-e slots, and when would we NEED to use those? For instance, If I have 2 580 classy hydro coppers, will I need the extra 6 pin? Also, is this being tuned for overclocking? I know we dont have specific numbers yet, I just ask cause I saw a video from asus saying the Max. V formula was being delayed because they were tuning it for highest possible overclocks. Is high OC's what this board is for? Thanks

Not bad, not bad at all. Did the board design team ever consider trying to do away with chipset fan in someway by going with a heatpipe that connects to the MOSFET cooler?

Looking like the Z77 FTW will be a great board guys! However I'm dissapointed that there is no video out ports to take advantage of one of Ivy Bridges biggest improvements which is the iGPU. Couldn't you add one DisplayPort?

I like the slot placement, are the 1st and 2nd red ones both x16 together (for SLI)? I could then put my tuner card in short PCI-e x1 below them ...

is a classified even in the works? It seems like the classified boards are only X58, X79, and SRX/2 there was no classified on the Z68 series.

Yeah that's what I bet also... Sadly. If so, I'll just go with an Asus Z77 Sabertooth. Always loved those boards, and about $85 or so cheaper.

Sabertooth is pretty good, I have an X58 and it has been very forgiving to this novice XD. I have never had tech difficulties with it, which it shouldn't as a sabertooth, which is great that I've never had to the test horror stories of the Asus customer support. Over all the EVGA Z77 looks great. a very clean looking MOBO, and very aestheticaly pleasing. I found Z68 to look pretty good too, just a little crowded with all of the heat sinks, one of witch blocking the top PCIex1 slot if I recall. Masssive fan of the brushed metal look on the chipset heatsink, love a brushed metal look, not so much a fan of the fan. I heard the Rampage IV Extreme's chipset fan was a little noisy. I haven't heard the EVGA one, obviously, but a little red flag is going up. I really like the look of it but I'll wait for the replacment to the X79 series. Lack of funds is holding me back from jumping the X58 ship. Very nice board.

yeah I was looking forward to the MVE by asus, but they didnt even announce an extreme version, and I'm betting the formula will be at least 300, so I was giving myself a $350 mobo budget, and this fit the bill for features i wanted.
