HDCP not allowing DVI-HDMI connection

running 296.10 drivers (just updated today) on a GTS 250. attempted to connect DVI-HDMI to my TV, it doesn't work and shows no signal. When connected with DVI-VGA it works perfectly fine. Reason for using the DVI-HDMI is 4:4:4 chroma which is supported by my LG 42LK450. Here is the card in question which says it supports HDCP. EVGA 01G-P3-1145-TR in my nvidia control panel i can't find any option to play around with. any idea here?

in the control panel check you HDCP status, when connecting to your TV make sure your resolution is set to the correct setting before you connect to the TV.

Well i changed to HDMI-HDMI and i see alot more changeable options under display now. it also recognizes LG TV as the display. in the nvidia control panel it says HDCP status and a green checkmark showing support. I don't think HDCP is the problem then. There seems to be a problem getting a connection with DVI-HDMI. I can see the loading of the bios screens and other menus all the way up to "loading windows..." and then as soon as it loads windows the tv says no display. I can use HDMI-HDMI and DVI-VGA all day but why not DVI-HDMI? I know the cable is working. any options I'm missing to do that? ..

Is the HDMI to DVI cable that you are using DVI-D or DVI-I? You want to use DVI-D if it is not.
