EA is ok, was a lot worse in the past. Now I'd rather "hate" on Activision really.

Blizzie I can't say I particularly like EA.. but what a terrible way to determine which company is the worse in America. I agree with you. Im no fan of EA either. I think their busniess practices are abhorible and i will not buy another another one of their games. I despise everything they have become and what they have done to the gaming industry. I disagree with the poll's outcome only because of the way BoA has handled their borderline illegal business practices over the last several years. Now EA's response to this while it seems to be made in jest just exaserbates the situation showing that they refuse to pay attention to what the customer base even if its a small portion of their annual sales numbers is feeling towards them. If I were John Riccitiello I would be deeply concerned about it. something like this can start a downward trend that can eventually kill a company. Even one as massive as EA.

I can believe that they received the worst company award. My reason for not liking them. http://www.evga.com/forum...;m=1513394&mpage=1 If it wasnt for Thomas Rodgers, the executive of customer relations, i would hate ea with all my heart and guts.

lol i think they put ea on that list just to make them the scapegoats... some of those other companies are horrible and put people's lives in danger... i don't really judge gaming companies except for their games whether they are good games or not... i like bf3 do i wish it was a bit different of course i do... like everything else not everyone is going to like something... i don't think it's just ea that does the things they do... they are just the biggest one out there and people's outrage has to be projected somewhere... are people going to outrage gaming practices at say a company like rovio? no they are small compare to ea or any other computer/console gaming developers... i also buy from ea because well they make games that interest me... activision and cod does not interest me... so i went with the one i prefer... with not many choices for the games i like to play i pick the one i like and just play...

I dislike what EA did to my beloved GDI vs NOD gameplay over the years but at the same time, i am stuck. If i want to play some good RTS i am limited. So i dont shun anyone at this point that makes a good RTS. THQ is going down the crapper lately, firing people from Relic who makes dawn of war and company of heroes (amazing rts). I cant wait for generals 2, dispite it being EA. And cnc up to 3 was solid.

You take pretty much every private development house EA has ever ran into the ground and you stacked them end to end, the amount of fail would reach Mars. There are countless casualties. Look what they did to Mythic Entertainment and what they're now doing to Bioware AND Mythic as Bioware-Mythic. Look at other franchises even narrowed down to MMO specific -- The Sims Online? What was that? Earth and Beyond? They ran that into the ground too. EA scares me with their efficiency to destroy anything for means of exploitation.

If you want to blame someone blame ATARI their the ones that started this model. I think they should be grandfathered into this award. All the crap that's happened in the past few years and this is who we choose to aim our discontent towards. We're broken. "America,=worst company in America"

You have to remember that EA doesnt make most of these games. Dice made BF3, whatever horse made alice madness, etc... they are just the publisher or whatever u wanna call them. You cant just say you wont buy an EA game because the game itself is made by other companies. EA just happens to be the best marketer. They are kind of like and record label. Would you not buy an album from an artist because you dont like the record label?

yea I play BF3 for the game itself,I don't buy the DLC crap. I don't own a 1000 $$ PC to play crappy graphic games. So yea unfortunately Im forced to buy games that at least 1 of the publishers/devs put out. Hence why I didn't buy any COD after Black Flops. I love military style FPS games so yea I own BF3,BC2 Crysis,Crysis Warhead, and Crysis 2. But doesn't mean I still can't not like the way EA and Activision conduct their business.

Remember the golden rule, he who has the gold makes the rules. As long as the publisher is writing the checks to produce the game, they have a great deal of impact on the end product.

You cant just say you wont buy an EA game because the game itself is made by other companies. EA just happens to be the best marketer. They are kind of like and record label. Would you not buy an album from an artist because you dont like the record label? EA dictates policy, design and development timelines with budgets. EA OWNS these companies. EA does make these games under the guise of sub-companies they own. EA owns DICE and every other major company in it's catalog. THe only reason why EA isn't the name of the development company for a lot of these projects is to isolate out liability and debt from the main corporation to easily kill off groups of developers that are found no longer useful. Seriously, Google DICE, Google BioWare, Google Mythic...I think you'll find out something a bit more disturbing that you previously thought. Originally all of these companies were independent, but then were purchased and consolidated into EA as a cash grab each time it occurred. The original management makes out like thieves and EA eats them up. Google every major partner EA has and you realize they're NOT partners, but magically have EA in their company name now. The only two notable exceptions to that rule are Epic and Crytek and I fully expect given motivation that EA would gut them too after cashing in. How do I know these things? I experienced it first hand while being a part of the internal developer testing group for Mythic Entertainment since 2002. You should have seen the internal changes that EA did to Mythic. It's a gutted shell after they forced a redesign of Warhammer during the closed alpha phase and got rid of the original Mythic management and public relations staff. Many of the brains from back in the DAoC era got disbursed out into world to go onto do independent things like RIFT and got cannibalized into SWToR. EA uses developers up and spits them out afterwards.

DICE is the only reason I buy anything from them. BF3 is the only game I have bought from them in about a year. As long as they force people to Origin or use activation limits, I will not buy anything else from them. ShurikenAngel dbe425 Solfaur EA is ok, was a lot worse in the past. EA has actually trumped Activision by a long-shot lately for worst game company. They are truly THAT bad.

I keep the the Mythic side of the company, Bioware merger is too recent for me to have any idea about ME3 development. I just see it as catering to the 1% and annoying the other 99%. Controversy sells. They probably did it to troll us just like a lot of everything else in ME3. This isn't a case of the character being born that way. If true, it's a deliberate decision by a writer to generate controversy.
