SR2/SRX or X79? Thursday, March 29, 2012 10:35 AM (permalink)
So due to a fan failing and a bit of overheating....im in need of a new rig. Im looking at going with either a X79, SR2, or SRX setup next. I'll mainly be using my rig for gaming, BF3, MW3, ME3, SC2, etc etc. I know goign the X79 route is cheaper, i was looking at the combo sale EVGA has on right now for the X79+i7-3960x. Which would you guys recomend i go with? X79 or a SR-(?) for me?

Thanks guys

If you're gonna game 80% or more I'd say stick with a single CPU platform with highly overclockable CPU and the possibility of SLI/Crossfire in the future

Get the Intel Core i7-3820 cheapest x79 will be more than enough for your gaming needs.
