Step-Up from GTX570 to GTX 680 to maybe GK110? Need Your advise Tuesday, March 27, 2012 3:15 AM (permalink)
As I dont know what to do with my old GTX570SLI I remembered that I have 52 days left over for a Step-Up of my recently purchased GTX570. My first is from December 2010.
I wonder what I have to pay for an exchange.
Otherwise step-up does only work one time or not? So I can not go to 680 and then to GK110?
And it's not possible to upgrade from my fresh GTX 680 vanilla to GTX680 4GB?

If I upgrade I would stick to 2 GTX680 SLI with only 2GB. But I'll prefer 4GB.

In a nutshell, step-up is nice but not necessarily easy to decide. Would be nice if EVGA could be convinced to change the conditions to a broader variaty of upgrade possibilities.

Please post Your opinions
Max

For a Step-Up you would have to pay the difference between what you paid for the card you currently have and the card you are Stepping-Up to.  You would only be able to Step-Up the card within the first 90 days of purchase.

You can only Step-Up from a non-Stepped-Up card.  If get a card from the Step-Up program you can't use it to do a Step-Up.  Also, non-reference cards are not available to be Stepped-Up to.

You would not be able to go down in performance so the only cards you can Step-Up to from a 570 are a 580 (015-P3-1580-AR) and a 680 (02G-P4-2680-KR).

For the full details for the Step-Up program as well as a list of cards you can go to please see the Step-Up page here.

Thank You so much. Already in queue for a long while at #519.
And after my second card I'll wait for GK110. So waiting is more blessed than receiving, in a biblical sense.
