I was just able to preorder the SuperClocked version on Amazon. I have been running that PriceWatcher program, and sure enough as soon as it was available it sounded the alarm. The superclocked versions lasted maybe a minute and a half for preorder.

You can prorder regular Evga and Gigabyte as of this second.

I was just able to pre-order a card out on Amazon. Ordered this:

bought mine from him and i am loving this thing. $45 was well worth it oc is easy and temps with a back plate are great! Plus i think the $45 extra goes to the shipping since he doesn't charge any only took 2-3 days to get here.

My rationalization for going with Amazon is that $529.99 price included shipping while the $519.99 price at Newegg required another $7.56 in shipping or a $2.44 price gouge. Meanwhile, I will continue to look for the one with the backplate as that is what I really want.

Hint for finding it on Amazon when it is up: When I searched for evga gtx 680 I came up with the sellers who are selling it for the $100.00 markup. In the small print (links) below it were the ones at the price I got, so do not give up on first glance if the big print just shows the marked up ones. I just checked and those links are gone but keep looking.

the $2.44 price gouge isn't that bad when you take into consideration Amazon's incredible customer service.

NO it does not. I purchased two High Flow Brackets and an extra back plate for my Step Up. I read that EVGA is going to have the High Flow Bracket on the Classy's and possibly the FTW's but not the SC's or SC+'s...

2 cards per person/ per household is more than good enough til' all the other ppl get theirs.

Except that I'm building a water cooled system, and I'd prefer to have all the cards in place *before* filling the system with water rather than trying to add a card later.

I was going to get a back plate for my ordered 2 680s, but when I heard that the BIOS chip in the card or another chip would be to hot with a plate on the card because the heat wouldn't spread out in a good way, and the Metal plate could over-heat the chip, I will be going without 1 as the summers here get way over 100 degreees and sometimes over 110. I'll go without the metal back-plate. :)

I'm pretty sure they would have let their customers know. I bought an entire system from newegg 2 weeks ago and havent been able to get one. 3,000.00 dollars worth of parts there waiting to be tested, i might cut it really close to my RMA window if anything was DOA. Hope i get ahold of something soon.
