i think i have seen that also before, i think it has to do with firefox not doing active x and needs to download a "plugin" to validate

I would call Microsoft and explain the situation. I cant remember where I read it but I think there was an issue that software was being flagged as counterfeit when it wasn't. I "Think" there is a hot fix or patch but can't remember. If you have a proper key then I don't see any issue. They can re-activate your windows with a different key if needed. Like I said if you are legit give them a call and they will be able to help.

The version your bought full retail? Have you done all updates etc?

EDIT Thats right I think the FF thing is right on since the validation doesn't work right and can flag that.

Please give better context on how it occurred? Did you receive an email? Were you surfing the web and that occurred? The only activation method I trust is the Microsoft automated phone option. Is this a new reinstall?

Don't do it, all you need to do is to re-install Windows but do it is as a upgrade option!

TY all for your post I called MS and they gave me a new install code to enter into the system and it is all cleared up.  BTW it was a pop up when I turned on my computer it is a valid pop up from microsoft.
