I just built my computer last night, and i was installing drivers, but the new 296.10 not installing. When i start installing it my screen goes black for a second, and just shows my desktop wallpaper and thats it. I let it sit like that for 20 mins thinking it was installing, but nothing happened. Am i supposed to wait longer? or is it not working? i5 2500k gigabyte Z68x mobo

Did you physically delete the driver folders in the NVIDIA folder within your C drive or local disk? When installing are you selecting just the graphics driver?

I think the drivers do not work with that particular card - i get a full screen of artifacts and the PC becomes unresponsive. Currently using 295.73. Thought this was due to the EXTREMELY bad cooling (over 100 degrees C, while playing RIFT) and i switched to water cooling, but the problem persisted. It's bad driver, really.

I have a 560gtx ti SC. I had so many TDRs with the 296 drivers. Try going to 275.33. I still get TDRs but not as often.

Guys, its not a bad driver. I'm running two GTX560ti cards in SLI with zero problems.......many more having great success with them as well. This was the only driver I found that worked best aside from the 285.62 driver

i agree... 296 are really good...not 1 single crash on BF3!! if you got TDR should be something else!!

Just a thought. I had a similar problem but not exactly the same. I was getting constant BSOD's and went through just about every driver in existience after my cards were made, and nothing fixed it. My end solution that appears to have completely resolved the problem was to download and install the latest chipset drivers for my MB. After that, I did a clean install of the 296 driver, and it has been perfect since. Maybe worth a shot? EDIT: Forgot to mention that I only got the BSOD's when the GPU's had been under heavy load for a while.

290.53 beta is definatlly the best driver for 560ti SC out of all the newer ones, 285, 295, 296 all crash my computer, 290.53 beta works like a dream though
