I've been playing crysis wars online for quite some time, but it has gotten terribly plagued with cheaters and server that ask for money in order to get access to special parts of the maps. I've had enough and decided to get battlefield 3 limited edition. Despite the extremely long install process and 4GB patch download, I'm totally blown away by how well it performs on my system, and how great it looks. When I got to the first outdoor scene in the game I swear I thought it was a cutscene, but when moving around I realized IT'S THE GAME!

Plus they are making a lot of weapon modifications. So why even bother I have grown used to a weapon now they are are going to change the way it feels on me? Meh I will will wait now.

that might be bad for those who have been playing since the game first released, but it also be a good thing. I gotta admit the game feels very different than any other fps I played, I think I'll spend some more time tweaking the mouse sensitivity value until i get it right. Does anyone know how to turn off the mouse smoothing in the game? it feels very smoothed.

I was actually disappointed by BF3's visuals. It's still one of the better looking games out there, but attention to detail and up close visuals don't come close to Crysis. Some textures are really high res but a lot are lackluster, it lacks POM which really hurts the visuals, no subsurface scattering, polygon count could be higher. Nothing revolutionary about its visuals at all.

Anyway I dropped Crysis Wars a while ago. It's the best PvP shooter in my opinion, but like you say the amount of cheaters, low amount of players, and horrible servers really hurts it. Say goodbye to the learning curve - BF3 has none.

added all you guys, btw my origin id is thexenix. The visual details to actual FPS ratio is really excellent compared to crysis. POM was pretty nice in crysis, but it was always a bit weird in some parts, it would cause the terrain to morph a bit when you look it at different angles. Theres a weird crosshair bug in multiplayer for bf3 it sometimes disappears.

BF3 is a gorgeous looking game, even if not on ULTRA settings. A lot of gameplay preferences are a bit subjective, but I find it amazing that somehow the opinion of the visuals of it aren't unanimous.

When I used to play on TWL ladders, I would cut my visuals waaaay back. Much easier to play competively that way.

But overall I'm doing pretty okay with the game so far =) I'm only settling with team deathmatch for now until I get better and unlock more stuff

What can I say... I'm an eye-candy AND an FPS ho.

So I just use 3 way SLI of 580's so I can get both the Ultra settings as well as 120 FPS. :)
