EVGA Rewards

Just curious, I remember about a year ago EVGA used to reward folders with EVGA bucks for hitting certain monthly marks. Do they still support that program?

That they do! The monthly tiers are: - 5 EVGA Bucks for 150k
- 5 EVGA Bucks for 350k
However, since this is now the last month of folding year 4, the reward tiers are bound to be shaken up a little bit by management.

EVGA shook up the requirements last year because it was getting easier to hit the marks. Now that was also after not changing up the requirements for the 2 years previous. Maybe it won't change and they will give us a year reprieve, but maybe they won't. We shall just have to wait and see. Personally I think an increase in the requirment will bring more overall participation, and will in turn keep [H] at bay. Folding@EVGA 111065 FTW!!!

Awesome! Thanks guys. I couldn't find any documentation on the site so I had to ask. I recently just got back into folding. I've been on the move the past year but now I can finally setup shop and fold away! EVGA FTW!!!

Welcome back then! Looks like you're already setup and ready to go. All you have to do is remember to make your request for bucks each month.

umm... i do not see anything on their main folding page about year 5 evga bucks giveaway. last year they had the rules to year 4 up before year 3 ended. i just hit the 350K for this month and i can no longer request the reward. i am assuming as of the 12th of this month it ended for good?

In the "fine print" of the Terms it says (for Year 4) "Folding@Home Promotion will begin 3/01/2011 and end on 2/28/2012". So they still have some time to announce Year 5 before the current year is over at the end of this month.

yea evga started the promotion about a month and a half late, so each year when March comes, a new year starts. I'm still curious what the new requrements will be if last year was 100K and 250K, this year was 150K and 350K, I'm guessing year 5 will be 200K and 450K they just increase each one by 50K and 100K each year

OH, i just assumed it ended on the on the 12th as it said "2/12" but 12 is most likely the year... i guess we will have to wait and see at this point but 450K for the second 5 EVGA Bucks is quite high, 15K per day.

15K a day is not hard to do, a Core 2 Quad CPU or higher, and at least a mid range 400/500 series can pass that easily

a core 2 quad hitting 15Kper day? i stopped running the CPU versions way long ago once the GPU version came out as was so superior. do you have any data charts to back that up? im really curious now to see how the CPU's can fold.

That sounds about right for a Quad. When I began Folding back in Aug 2010 all I had was a Core 2 Duo and my average daily was ~ 8K for SMP (didn't have a Fermi GPU yet). So, I'd expect you could hit double that number with the extra (2) CPU's in the Quad.

You misread what I said, I said a Core 2 Quad cpu and a mid range 400/500 card series card together can do around 15K I use to have a Core 2 Quad 9300 at stock that did around 4 - 5K a day and my GTX 460 does around 10 - 11K for example
