There have been a lot of inquiries lately about GTX460 SLI and, being an owner of several myself, I took interest in the latest product release.  Turns out this V2 version isn't compatible with other 460's either.  So we have four groups of GTX460 that aren't SLI compatible.
 
To use the table below for SLI pairing, just pick any two products from one of the columns.  The part number does not have to be the same.  You can not pick two products from two different columns (one per column) because they won't be compatible in SLI (according to EVGA):
 

 
EDIT: Suffixes like AR, KR, TR, ER, K1, etc do not matter when selecting SLI-compatible products.  These codes relate to warranty (length, region) and bundles.
 
Hope this helps anyone looking for a second card to SLI... the GTX460 is still a very powerful beast.

No, as far as we know Nvidia laser cuts the die to disable it. The only recent card that held the possibility of enabling extra SM unit was the GTX 465 and that was because they were selling so fast that some distributors decided to sell GTX 470's that were flashed to GTX 465 firmware.

Oh, yeah if they disabled it with the laser u cant reverse it,
and about the gtx 465 do u know the brands or models that come flashed with the 465 firmware? i guess that maybe some ppl that wanna buy 470 right now would be interested. Thanks.

Sadly I found this post AFTER I tried to install the 1Gb FPB 460 alongside my old 768Mb SC card. No SLI for me now.
 
I've made it a tech support ticket and hope that I can return the 1Gb card or that it can be exchanged for an old 768Mb SC one ;)

The 768MB cards can usually be found for sale used, haven't seen new retail units out there for a while.  Doesn't hurt to ask EVGA.

Hope they'll exchange it. I have 8 years warranty left on the SC card and can overlock it BIG TIME (set speed to the new SC cards and it's 100% stable). Guess I'll have to wait for an answer from EVGA till then...

Darn I was hoping the 768mb and a 1gb would be compatible so I could use my EVGA bucks to get the 1gb. Thanks for the info it seems as though they're phasing the 400 series out on the evga site so I hope the 500 series drops to where I can get a 560 with the bucks I have and maybe add on a little bit of course.
 
I got my 768mb version to replace my 450 in april I want to say but now of course I find I'm pushing the RAM use to its limit 765/768mb usage and that's not doing everything i was planning and as i have dedicated graphics i can't use any of my high speed ram to help that any.

i am looking for a gtx 460 SE , if any1 got one by mistake and wanna resell it or trade it for something else...

Just so I understand correctly, I currently own a EVGA 01G-P3-1372-TR wanting to SLI it with another card. So I can pick any card from the first column to pair my current card with?

quick question, from your table i see that i can pair a 1371 with a 1373, but of course the 1373 is OC'd do i just OC the 1371 to make sure they "play well together"?

the sli arhitecture will slow down the oc card if u pair them like u have them right now with no modifications , the sli will  have to match the speed of the 2 cards . So  if You oc the other card or u leave it that way  they can be paired. I think there is a SLI guide around somewhere on this forum.... for more informations...

i dont thinks so Bucco , the gpus from each of them work different and their bios are different, so they are pretty not compatible for sli, right now i have 2x 460se running on 460 stock freq and they are not heating more than they should.
