well I updated that one nvidia driver and that didn't do anything either :'(

Still getting that not compatible error :\

Gotta admit, it's a strange one with two different cards...Well you can try a full CMOS clear by taking the CMOS battery out for say 30 minutes. It's not unheard of for the ESCD data to not clear in the BIOS but it's pretty rare.

how do you take out the battery? I kinda tried taking it out but didn't want to mess with it, because I wasn't to sure on how to take it out.

There's just the metal spring clip holding it in. You should be able to just push that back a bit and pop it right out.

ok so now I reset the cmos by taking out the battery and when I put it back after about half an hour, it started doing regiestry checks or something when I booted up o_O?

after that finished My winodws 7 wasn't geniune anymore lol..had to call microsoft to reactivate it (got a little worried about that one D:) after it was activated I tried to install the drivers again..

and again still getting that not compatible error :\. Is it possible that my motherboard doesn't support this card

I've tried reading the ultimate driver guide stickied on here and put the drivers on desktop and made sure no other nvidia drivers were on cept the graphic drivers and chipset, then took off the graphic one when there were no others and restarted the computer and still nothing

I read from another user that it is possibly the driver. Try loading the one on the supplied CD? If not, I'm not really sure. Sounds like it could be your Mobo. Can you try it on a different computer/Mobo?
 
I'm getting mine tomorrow (hopefully) so we'll see if I have the same issue.

I downloaded the latest 290 beta driver from nvidia.com and haven't had any issues other than 3dmark software being unable to detect my gpus as anything other than 'generic vga'.  Oh well, i can't submit results.  Which I couldn't do until a WHQL driver is certified anyway.

I'll give those drivers a shot.

I also just did a error check on my hard drive and let it finished..so I'll see if that helps. Thanks for helping me out guys.

ok well the 290 beta drivers installed, but it feels like im getting low fps in games

I don't have any games installed right now since I reformated and wanted to wait to install untill i get my card fixed. But i went on to google and tried out that one website "can you run it" not sure if it's really helpful or not.

anyways I slected call of duty black ops which really isn't a graphic heavy game..well shouldn't be for this card and I noticed that it says I do not meet the requirements to play this game..

and I also noticed it says my card has 3gb of ram? heres an ss of it, again sorry if the ss is to big or small.

Yeah that 'tool' is completely useless and doesn't do anything other than confuse people like you.
Install something and play it to do a real test.

Last time I tried playing on gta 4 when I had the cd drivers installed I was getting about the same as my 9800gt on max settings if I was lucky I would get 10fps more

and the resolution I'm playing at is 1440x900

so o_O only the 290 beta drivers will work? and i'll come post bench marks of Uningine in a bit, but in the meantime I benchmarked gta4 and got these results o-o

The CD that came in the box should have 285.66 and should work. When I went to the NVIDIA site last week all they had available for download were the 285.62 and BETA's.
 
I guess if you're unhappy with the results from the 290's you could always try the 285.66's to see if you get better results.

Well you can modify the INF file so earlier drivers would work. But essentially, right now, you're limited to the driver on the CD and the 290.36 BETA driver. Future driver releases will support your card.

k I'm about to ask a really dumb question so meh here I go..

How do I save the benchmark in Uningine after it's done

I'm having the same problem card just arrived today installed and driver issues. PC is a brand new build.

When it's done running the bench test a screen will pop up with a score and your FPS. There's a save button and it shows you were it's saving it.

Eh...could you be more specific? What other hardware do you have, what specific issue, a particular game or application?...Kinda like going to your mechanic and saying  'it broke, fix it'.

Edit: also if memory serves right... GTA4 is probably the worst 'benchmark' you could use.  It's highly cpu bound, so you will see little improvement by changing GPUs.

What were you running for AA? Those numbers look about right for your processor and GPU.

So from what I read only the 285.66 drivers and beta drivers will work on this card right


looks like the beta drivers made my card work and those were the only one I was able to download and install, If u tried the 285.66 ones off the site it wouldn't work unless I used the cd.
which seemed a little weird to me.
