taako Do any of any of these new motherboards fit on a Corsair 800D? Cus.. you know, I bought this case thinking "Ok, this case is huge and big enough to hold any board out there! So, I should be good" I know it can't fit the SR series, but I'm not a crazy person Althought I wouldn't mind having one, teehee. SR-2 will definitely fit in an 800D but you have to get out the dremel. Just needs a bit of a trim.

bcb325ci I confussed..I thought most sound cards are single slot anyways. Why can't you use the 1x slot for a sound card? Because it's right above the primary PCI-Express 16x slot. And if you're using any decent gaming card, that card will take up at least 2 slots. Only if you're using water cooling plates on those cards would you have enough room. And have you ever tried to run a PC with graphics cards anywhere but in the first PCI-Express 16x slot? It's supposed to be just fine "in theory", yet may give you all sorts of headaches in the future. beaker7 SR-2 will definitely fit in an 800D but you have to get out the dremel. Just needs a bit of a trim. Yeah, and by those standards you could fit an SR-2 into an HTPC case, but who'd want that?

cipher_nemo Yeah, and by those standards you could fit an SR-2 into an HTPC case, but who'd want that? The 800D / SR-2 is quite a nice combo actually. It's a handsome case and not nearly as ridiculously huge as the Mountain Mods stuff. I've done 2 myself and am quite happy with them.

A ridiculously huge motherboard wants a ridiculously huge case. The Mountain Mods Ascension case is a very nice fit. The 800D would require modding to fit the SR-2, which not everyone is willing to do (I'm not speaking for myself here). So why recommend it to others at all? I modded my Tagan Black Pearl case to fit my Scythe cooler, and I love it, but I wouldn't recommend that combination to anyone else. If a modder wants to build such a system, chances are they wouldn't need recommendations like this at all since the whole point of modding is to do something unique with their own hands.

Yup, looks like everything is Step-Up Program upgradable. I used the Step-Up program to go from a GTX 285 to my GTX 295 Co-Op, but I probably won't go with that program again since you can't get the upgrade advance-shipped, so you're sitting without a replacement for up to two weeks.

Sorry I'm still confussed on what you mean. Any gaming sound card goes right above your video card in the 1x slot right. You said have you tried using any decent gaming card and it takes up 2 slots well yes I have and it does take up 2 slots, but under the primary PCI 16 slot. Mine are watercooled so just 1 slot for me anyway. I don't know of any 2 slot gaming sound card that would not fit in the PCI 1x slot right above the primary PCI 16 slot.

Nice board, but only have 4 DDR3 memory Slot, and I have 6 DDR3 1600 Mhz modules, I better wait for another release with 8 DDR3 slot or go with the Asus Rampage IV, it's has 8 DDR3 Slot and an awesome motherboard too.

I will echo my already made post. Not only is the SB-E and X79 platform underwhelming, but the EVGA Classified is clearly overpriced and feature poor compared to ASUS, MSI, and even ASRock as well for the simple fact it does not support 8 channels of RAM.

Yes, it's true, but now I only have to buy two modules DDR3 1600 that is super cheap compare to the new quad channel memory.

It's a quad memory CPU and EVGA motherboards have four slots, so you need all four slots populated for quad core memory support.

thegreatga Just wish that they also released a board with dual lga2011's. However in time maybe. Now to just find the processors?? Intel postponed multi-socket boards and Xeon E5 series to next quarter, and like SR-2, i7's won't work there either.
