• Thanks to Punchy we've got chat on the contest site on the chat page as well as at the bottom of the team stats pages.
• Though Eastern and Mountain are rapidly approaching the finish line, stats will continue for all teams until they cross the finish line.
• I'm sure you've all see it by now, but we have a team progress graph and hourly point dump graph up on the site.

• A time-delineated graph of the teams progress has been added to the site and can be found here.
  • You can select the zoom level in the upper left.
  • The bar across the bottom allows you to select the time/date range to view.
  • Hopefully I fixed the data.  If not we'll have to wait for drougnor to wake up and get the rest fixed.  It should automatically update as soon as he is able to get to it.
• If you have any further suggestions of stats you would like to see please let me know.
• KRAM has been removed from this and future folding contests per his request.

• Before we get this contest started, I'd like to take a moment to thank those that have helped to make it possible.  You should do the same.  (in alphabetical order).
  • Barbarossa - organizing the 2 bigadv rigs we will be giving away
  • drougnor - once again providing us with hourly stats updates
  • DutchForce - quite a few helpful suggestions to improve the TZC contest as well as making sure our stats page is accurate.
  • rjbelans - double checking the stats page and providing members with helpful explanations that I am sometimes too busy to provide
  • Xavier Zepherious - helping to keep things organized on the forums
  • Zerran2001 - original creator of the Time Zone Challenge as well as providing feedback and insight to this years TZC
  • Every single person that donated something to give away at the end of the contest.  From the smallest donation to the largest, individual donations and those that built the bigadv rigs - they are a big part of what gets people motivated and excited about the contest.
  • Everyone that signed up for this contest.  Without you guys, this is all for nothing.  Lets get out there and fold our hearts out!

• Due to the large turn out for this contest, we are going to increase the point goal to 50 million.  It should take teams somewhere around 14 to 21 days to complete depending on how they perform.
• Reminder to all participants that a minimum of 100,000 points is require to qualify for winning any of the folding gifts.  If you cannot reach this level due to the limitations  of your hardware, you must contact me before the contest begins to remain eligible.
• Many people are asking about the exact start time of the contest and the exact start time will remain unknown except to drougnor and myself.  It could start at any point on the 24th...in any time zone.

• The Central Time Zone can talk all the trash in the world, but resting on the laurels of past successes is not going to cut it this year.  The latest numbers from the registration show that Central is in for a world of hurt as the big boys from the Mountain Time Zone battle it out against the growing horde of Eastern Time Zone folders in a close PPD race.  In fact, it seams the only thing Central has to brag about thus far is their firm grasp on 3rd place and commanding lead over the Pacific Time Zone.

 

• With 10 days remaining before the contest begins, can Central stage an epic comeback to remain undefeated in the Time Zone Challenge?  Only time will tell...

• BigAdv rigs are posted on the website for you to ogle.
  
  • Both rigs have different eligibility requirements to qualify for, please consult contest site for more information
    • The first rig follows the same eligibility requirements as other gifts
    • The second rig requires:
      • 200 people participating in the contest
      • Winner must have folded 9 months or 2 million points with Folding @ EVGA (111065)
    • Lets spread the word so that we can give away 2 bigadv rigs!

Contest Gifts

1. We are currently accepting donations for gifts to be given away at the end of the Time Zone Challenge.  The members of Team EVGA have a strong reputation for extreme generosity when it comes to contests (and folding in general).  Lets keep the tradition alive by alive, so dust off that old hardware you are no longer using and pass it along to someone that can start using it to generate folding points and get us one step closer to a cure. 
   
   • Computer parts, unused game codes, electronics, whatever you  think is appropriate is welcome!
   • To donate a gift to be given away at the end of the contest simply fill out this form.
   • Gifts can be donated up until the last day of the contest.  Sooner is better, however, as it may entice more people to get involved.
   • If you have any questions, please let me know. 
2. Hi there!  I'm a regular over at Extreme Overclocking dot com.  There's a advert there, posted by a new member (Xavier Zepherious) that mentions the Time Zone challenge and mentions several EVGA forum members by name (as well as your team ID).  However, the googlesites that this advert points to are absent of EVGA branding and so there's a question at EOCF as to the legitimacy of this post.  Can someone scoot over there and confirm one way or the other?  Thanks so much!

I think I am a time zone unto myself.  Go HST!!

The Time Zone Challenge started out as a race between 4 time zones: MST, PST, CST, and EST.  There are a few members that participated in the previous TZCs from other time zones, however, but there weren't enough for that particular time zone to warrant a new time zone entry into the race. So what usually ends up happening, like in your case, is you pick among the 4 time zones I listed and contribute towards that team to help equal the teams out.  If we have enough participants this year that don't belong to the main 4 then a 5th team might be added to cover the various other time zones.  You might want to ask and see if anything changed this year in regards to that.
 
EDIT: Nevermind, I found this:

• You must sign up for the time zone you live in.
  • If you live outside the available time zones, you will be assigned a team.

Someone might be jumping the gun a little bit spreading the word before the contest is ready to accept registrations, but we certainly can't fault the enthusiasm. 
 
Its a common misconception that Folding @ EVGA is run/organized by the folks at EVGA.  The folding team here was created by members of these forums and though EVGA supports its folding team through various giveaways, the vast majority of what we do is initiated and sponsored by our members.
 
If it will make you feel better we can put some EVGA logos on the site, but its not really in the plans at the moment. 

There is only 1 problem with this whole competition. It starts the day before Battlefield 3 releases . But otherwise CST FTW!!!!!

Woot!  This will work out great!  My new WC res will arrive tomorrow so I can get it installed, leak tested, and work on a stable OC before the TZC starts!  Excellent!

I expect to lose a few hours per night and a bunch on the weekends due to BF3... but am preparing an alternate rig with spare 24/7 GPU folders.
