i really wish i could figure out what the deal is. Some players have no issues at all on my server. Some just can't stay connected at all. If you could do me a favor and ping moosemanstudios.com and post the results in here maybe i can figure out if its just latency issues or something.

What render distance are you guys using as well? I've heard from a few people that say settign to far gets them EOS and setting to tiny is fine.

So after doing some research about it apparently its become much more prevalent with the newer releases of minecraft and craftbukkit. Apparently NIC's are very crucial in the EOS problems, and i currently run on a VM so i'm gonna pickup a NIC and pass to the VM and see if that helps. I'll report back when i get it so people can test then.

I'm still getting the EOS about 10 seconds after logging in after putting my setting to tiny. For some reason when I'm in the skyworld I dont have this problem. Just everytime I try another world I start getting this error.

moose....I love minecraft and have my own private server for my family.....would you add me to the builders list? Oh and I too am getting the end of stream error messages when I connect to your server. Any ideas? Do you think it is possibly a firewall issue? Thanks!

Well i've finally learned what the problem is. Apparantly there is too much lava/water flowing around the world and its causing the problem. So now the thing i'm facing is do i delete the map and start over importing the mega projects from the world as is, or leave it like it is and my dad and i be the only players there is.

I've never used MCEdit before but maybe you could load your world into it and fill in a lot of the water and lava with other blocks (dirt, sand, etc).

Moose When I first started playing on your server I had no problems at all. The first day I walked around for about 2 hours on the main world just looking at what you guys have built and never got a EOS. Unless you have added a lot more lava and water to the spawn point area that should not be the problem. Just a thought. Would hate to see you delete all that hard work.

I have decided to move waaaay far away from the current areas of the world seeking an area that was safe, cause apparantly its when the chunks with the lva and water are loaded that it happens, still had issues even after walking for like half an hour. My plan is to use mcedit and copy out the chunks of the key structures that players want saved, and just import them into a new map. something went awry in the past few weeks thats totally fubaring the map for some reason. I'm also thinking i might try and pull up a backup of the world from about a month ago - load that up and see if players have issues then. if no i guess everybody just lost a month of work, but at least the server will go on. Its really frustrating as i'm losing players because of it.

Still working on it. Word has it the eos's are caused by too much water & lava so we've tried removing the largest concentrations- no luck. We thought perhaps something was corrupted, so moose rolled the world back to a save from before the problem started- still no luck. Now we're thinking the huge storage room might be the culprit, still deciding on a course of action for that. My gut feeling is the world is just not salvageable, I think moose's idea of starting a new world and importing some of our projects might be the only way. I've personally put over 1,000 hours into just the pyramid, not to mention my other projects. This really sucks.
