Where can I find the current version I am running? I bought my mobo used and IDK what it had been flashed to. The person I bought it from simply said "flashed to the latest and greatest drivers".

I can't even flash the firmware saying "Physical Media Error" at the top of DOS line. At the flashing moment I don't have any drive attached to the port and SATA6 is enabled in the BIOS.

Are you saying you are pulling the USB stick or CD out for the flashing?

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

Hey Guys, if you are not having any issues and your system is stable, I would consider leaving well enough alone. I'm thought about apply this update after successfully apply BIOS 82 on my FTW3. But decided not too, since my system is running just fine.

Problem solved by reburning the image to a new blank recordable dvd.

as in a earlier post, I also got when flashing using the 1701 version

"Warning! BIOS Header and Device ID don't match. Incoming BIOS Header is 0x9125. Current BIOS Header is 0x91a3"
          Flash finished "successfully,"

I re flashed and the second time I didn't get the error message, so is all OK ?

No need to reflash. This is normal as Jacob already answered.

Don't know why I keep gettng this message when attempting to flash the firmware for Marvell:

"Can't load BDOS Kernal file A:\IBMDOS.COM" System Halted."

Wasted about 3 cds already downloading the Marvell firmware 1701 on a e770 mobo. Anybody have a clue to WTH is going on? And, is it possible to flash the Marvell with a thumb drive and how?

Is there a way to check from within Windows 7 the Marvell BIOS and Firmware revisions without having to reboot the computer?  I just bought the Classified 3 (E770) and I downloaded the Marvell Firmware once, but it stuck at physical media error, and I've redownlaoded it agian andhave burned it again, but in powering on the computer I know that the BIOS version is indeed .1029, even though the numbering of hte file in this thread is .1701 - confusing to say the least....

Hi.  Just set up my X58 SLI3 for the first time..

The Marvell BIOS during post says 1.0.0.1029, so I tried to flash with the 1407 on the website.

The result was that the firmware updater said "currently at 1701, not gonna overwrite that with 1407" - which is fine.

Q:  why does it report 1029 during post if it is indeed running 1701 ???

                  Thx/jad

It's just the way it was set it up. Lots of people were asking about it but they got over it.

yes pleaaase do so. I had to can the onboard SATAIII slots for a LSI card, and i don't want to reformat AGAIN to see if i'm going to have any better results, which I am hopeful will happen. Could always keep my RAID card in case i get 2 more SSD's for RAID 5 or 10 =D

Jacob, I have a X58 Classified 4-way SLI that I purchased about a month ago, and looking at the list above, wasn't sure if this update applied to my board or not. I am still working on putting the watercooling setup for the 4 295 Hydros together, so I have a little time, but if it does apply to my board, let me know so I can get it downloaded and be ready when I'm set to fire it up. Thanks!

The 4 way board does not have a Marvell SATAIII/6G controller. It has a Marvell network adapter. This firmware update does not apply to your board.

The Downloads page states otherwise, which is correct?

i've come to the reasoning i like EVGA but i'm stuck in the X58 era of boards. technology hates trying to keep up with itself. my SLI LE was great also for a whole year and a half, and thanks to the great EVGA customer service, i got another one for my bro, and bought myself a FTW3. taking advantage of the SATAIII ports seem only useful for non-SSD's. sadly, i found the only solution is shelling $$$ on a RAID controller cuz i just can't and won't switch to the 1155 sandy bridge boards everyone says actually perform with SATAIII SSD's. i heart 1366! and soon to be 2011!!!

on the smaller plus side, i'll probably upgrade my SSD's to RAID 10 eventually since i can load up to 8 SSDs on it..

yea i peeked at this thread while ago, thought it was a different thread. i did try the same ideas posted here when i was troubleshooting my SATAIII ports, and even when i updated, it did help a little, but i soon after decided to switch to a RAID controller to get the advertised performance from the vertex 3's in RAID 0. it's worth the price to me after the new ATTO benchmarks were over what was advertised. i have yet to find an explanation for why that is actually.

When is evga going to update their support page? It looks like to get the latest bios or firmwre you should visit the forums.

i updated this a few days ago, and i still get better ATTO scores on the SATAII vs SATAIII on my SSDs. if anyone has scores that are better fromm this update, i'd like to know, and so would lots of us.. TY EVGA for trying! i guess..

is it just coincidence that most of us are happy with Intel CPUs as well as the onboard Intel RAID? =DDD

guess marvell was a bad choice. will they recover? btw are the new LGA 1155 boards onboard RAIDs really better for SATAIII? i looked around and couldn't find any threads. i did google P67 RAID vs X58 RAID.. saw some results showing the X58 is still stronger (without a RAID card) using 6GB ports.

of course RAID cards don't use trimm.. and it seems 6GB advertising for SSDs is just not panning out. not that i'm mad, cuz my vertex 3's still perform better on SATAII than vertex 2's in RAID configs, but still, is a driver update really gonna fix this problem one day?

                                    tell me technology will PREVAIL!

I just set up a raid 0 with two WD3000HLHX Velociraptor (sata 3) HDD. Earlier I started a thread asking for people's opinions beacause I have 3 of those drives and was considering a triple raid. The one common refrain was to avoid the Marvel controller--that not only was it not any faster than the intel, but that it had other issues as well. So, I just set up W764 using two of those drives in raid 0 on the intel controller. Microsoft gave me a new product key good for 3 activations--don't think I'm gonna bother wasting one to switch things over and try this out.

So has anyone managed to get the Marvell SATA6G ports working properly? I finally got all the parts back inside my case, but as I'm sitting here trying to install my slipstreamed copy of Win 7 with SP1, the installer keeps getting stuck at "Expanding Windows Files", usually at the 1% or 2% mark.

I've tried extracting both the marvell raid drivers and other marvel drivers from the EVGA CD that came with the mobo, but they're not being picked up by the installer.

At this point, I might just say screw it and use the Intel SATA until a future motherboard actually works with SATA III. That, and I think having 3 GPUs on the PCIe lanes might be bogging down the Marvell port's bandwidth.

                                            Dumb question.
                                            I have a 141-BL-E759-A1 board.
I want to purchase a Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2CCA 2.5" 256GB SATA III for the E759 motherboard to make the OS, games run faster.
Does my motherboard have a SATAIII/6G controller to support this SATA III drive?
I tried to find my answers from previous posts but I think I am too uninformed to see the answer if it was there.
                                            Thanks for any info.

No your board only has sata 2. The drive will still work, you just wont get the full speed from it.

Think I will forget SATA drive and replace my GTX 295 and  invest in a new GTX 580 video card for my E759.

I think everyone gets that message? It's the first thing that appears when the CD boots. Then the flashing begins.

Hey fellas .... quick question about burning the iso image .

I down loaded and used  "image burn" to burn the iso to a blank cd-r disk. The "chirping success" burn notification sounded so I thought I was good to go ? However when I reinsert the disk to see it's contents it shows as nothing is on the cd but yet it shows that the disk is full @ 1.4 mb . Now I understand that the disk is full as it can only be used one time but why can't I see the image on the disk ?

Easy does it here .... I have never done this before . I used my 780i computer to d/l and burn the image so I could later boot my Classy 3 and install the firm ware

                                                        Hello,

I have done the firmware update and driver update for this chipset and it did seem to speed up the controller and the SSD's are working a little nicer now. However it did cause a random MV91XX.SYS error which caused a BSOD. I have tried reloading the latest drivers and tried the firmware flash again with the same thing happening.

I have been searching online and found that there are 1.78.0.1016 WHQL drivers for the 9128 chipset and also a  2.2.0.1125 firmware. They are listed on the station-drivers.com website, I have not tested them incase they are not compatible, maybe some of the guru's at EVGA can confirm and update the firmware and drivers list if they are.

I just want my system stable and to stop these damn MV91XX.SYS BSODs.

                                                        Cheers. :)
