nordicjedi ZenDigital Just for the record, I am neither for or against furries, and this is not to flame.... You might try following that for yourself and there would be no flaming in the first place. If this is the personal lifestyle that you claim it is, then treat it as such by not forcing it upon us. Don't say that's not the case because here you are on a public forum pushing a topic that only has something to do with yourself and a few others. But you're announcing it as though you're inviting the attention of everyone. Believe it or not most people don't hate furries because they are furries, it's because many of them feel the need to take it outside of their community to push for some sort of public acceptance. It's like it not enough to be a PC enthusiast interacting with fellow PC enthusiasts on the forum of a company that makes enthusiast grade hardware, but you feel the incessant need to cram the "furry" angle into as though it enhances it. Why not accept that not everyone is going to appreciate it, that in fact some may show outright hostility towards it? You don't see sigs for EVGA Gays, EVGA Conservatives, EVGA Muslims, or EVGA Necrophiliacs do you? Why? Because someone is going to be offended by it. First of all, understand that burning_kittins asked for approval from EVGA prior to reposting this thread. While EVGA does not advocate for or against the furry community, this thread breaks none of the rules on this forum. Second, I saw nothing in this thread that "forced" a furry "lifestyle" upon you or anyone, and it can only be read in that manner if one already has his/her opinion made up before reading. Contrary to what your logic might suggest, this is, in fact, a public forum, and people can create threads so long as they do not violate the TOS. The fact that someone calls attention to a problem, group, article, or anything has never been a reason for treating a thread any different on this forums. If we didn't want people to pay attention to our requests for help, information, topics that are interesting or funny, or any other topic, then people wouldn't post threads in the first place. The EVGA forums is a diverse community because there are a wide variety of interests, hardware, software, culture, and people permeating threads; it is foolish to think that one group deserves special treatment because some members disagree with a member's viewpoints. Why not accept that not everyone is going to appreciate it, that in fact some may show outright hostility towards it? If that's the case, then we should eliminate the right for members to post pro-ATI articles in the Hardware/Software News forum, because it clearly evinces "outright hostility." We do that, however, and this forum becomes less informed, which degrades the quality of our forums and members. I could point out many other examples that illustrate why that point is unworkable, but you seem to be missing the point. The issue with the previous thread was that not only did members show outright hostility towards furries, but they violated the TOS several times over in the course of doing so. That hasn't happened yet, but I will not be in a pleasant mood if it happens again. If someone can provide an opposing view in this thread without breaking the TOS, then I'm certainly not going to stop them. To that extent, burning_kittens may be asking a little too much. But I do recognize and accept your point of view in that being a furry is a lifestyle and I will treat this thread the same way I would treat any thread promoting a similar lifestyle/political/religious agenda. In that case, remember that the TOS specifically prohibits only political and religious topics, and if you see that here, then kindly report it to the moderators. However, there is nothing in the TOS that covers lifestyle, save that there is to be no mention of illegal activity, and that members may not post political or religious content. If you feel offended by something that is not prohibited by the TOS, then please bring it to the attention of a moderator, or choose to read a different thread. Point taken, I just thought history was repeating itself so to speak. But since you guys are on top of it, that's all that matters as far as I'm concerned. After what happened last time this just kind of irked me and it seemed as if the OP was opening up the same bag of unpleasantness from before. But if you guys are okay with it, then so am I. So in light of that, @BK Sorry for gettin all preemptive on ya there buddy.
