Well, I got my CM V8 repaired, and its working... I also got the three GTX 260 SSC's installed... I can only fold on two of them as of right now... I thought the new drivers allowed you to fold without dummy plugs, WRONG!!! 191.07 u need dummy plugs!!! I am folding GPU 1 wint my Samsung Monitor, and Folding on GPU 2 using my Sony 40 TV, and GPU 3 has nothing... So I am at least running 2 of 3 GPUs, and 8 cores on my i7, no -bigadv for me yet I will wait for u guys to get all the bugs worked out... I would also like to thank tank 1023, wb488641, Horvat, and everyone else that helped me get through this!!!

With the 191.07 driver I have been able to run my two 9800 GX2's and three GTX 285's without dummy plugs WITH SLI enabled. If you have SLI disabled, you need dummy plugs. Just a note though, at least with my systems, there is a small loss of PPD when I fold with no dummy plugs and SLI enabled. More PPD with dummy plugs and SLI disabled.

I did kinda like it running in SLI, but it was kinda funny... I had one GPU client open and it fired up GPU 1 & 2 to 3d mode and it started a 1888 it was doing 1% one min then 2% the next min, it alternated like that in 10 to 15 mins it was at 25% or more... But GPU 3 would not fire up... Now i have SLI undone and using gpu 1 with my monitor, and gpu 2 with my tv and gpu just sitting there looking pretty as I have no dummy plugs

If you have a DVI -> VGA adapter just grab some resistors and you can make an easy one. THIS is the guide I used. I just put some hot glue on and around the resistors to make sure they stay in place incase I bump it. The 5 resistors only cost $1 at Radio Shack.

I was surprised you missed this, You were Probably anxious to get started. Quote/ Get er Done and Get back soon. One thing at a Time Do lots of research first . All the Folding On Multiple GPU's is On the archive forum. If your using 191.07 drivers and your 260's are single , you can skip the dummy Plugs. If they are duals Like the gtx275's the dummys are necessary. The dummys are easy to make, after you get the 6+ resistors from radio shack you cab make them in 5-10 mins. Keep us posted? /quote

Hey Barn, you are welcome!!! do what the squirrel suggested , enabled SLI and using driver 191.07 and above, then you don't need the dummy plugs, if you have sli enabled, otherwise you will need dumb plugs Good Luck on your installed, as myself is busy trying to keep the farm running with anymore WB

Don't forget to change your machine ID numbers. I think they default as machine 2. Go in and change the 1-2-3. I spent a month folding with all the same machine ID and couldn't figure out why my PPD wasn't adding up. _Nite_ helped me on this one.

I already did that for him, just make sure to change the ID name, otherwise he will be folding with my name instead... which would not be good for his PPD , but great for my PPD WB

They open at 10 here....thats where I got my resistors and they should have the plugs also. They are literally like .15 a piece for the resistors

I tried to make dummy plugs for my 280's & 285's and I picked up the wrong type of resisters. so the plugs never worked for me. This is what I did to get the 3rd card to work. I have 4 VGA/DVI adapters and two spare VGA cables and ran the VGA cable (with the VGA/DVI adapters connected to each end) from plug 1 on card two to plug 1 on card three.. and Boom!! working.. (yeah I know its kinda messy but it works) I can get a screen shot if you all want a chuckle.
