780i q9550 pc2 8500 overclock - Friday, November 06, 2009 2:33 PM ( #1 )
Ive managed to get 15300 in 3DMark06 w Vista.
Ive OCd the cpu,I OCd my 9800GTX to 9800GTX+ specs
In nvidia control panel i turn settings all the way down to
performance.
I dload and install free ver of 3DMark06
My desktop rez is at monitors recomended 1680x1050

Any suggestions to keep my score high that ive missed
to get the best poss. score per Win7

basically im still using 06 to reference any improvements i make to my build

run the test at default . meaning dont touch anything on bench just open and click run. no tricks really. a good basis to for benches that every goes by is to run it at default then it can be compared to others

What CPU fsb do you use to get 3.8?....1800? and do you bump up your volts?

atm im using 1826 on the fsb with a fsb voltage of 1.25v the cpu at 1.365v with no vdroop the mem is running linked and synced my gtlrf at .35mv on all 4 cores. as you can try to clock them up. ive had the best stability by doing a link and sync config

Try to bump up your CPU to 3.8Ghz might help

With that memory and CPU I'd shoot for 3.775 GHz.  To use the 6:5 divider set memory speed too 1066MHz Unlinked. QDR needs to be 1776 which is 444FSB. You will get much better bandwidth there compared to linked and synked. Other voltage adjustments will be needed to get stable but that will be the best possible divider to use with your memory.

3dmark06 is the worst reference to based on run games benchmarks is much more accurate. mark06 is very CPU dependent.

Ok, your using an outdated bench and you havn't a clue on how to use dividers. You guys are downclocking your memory for no good reason but I guess being stuck with an 8.5 multi forces some of you to do that. I would get some faster memory to make up for the low multi then use a divider that will run the memory at it's max rated speed.  Linked and synked is a joke.
