In that config, the 2nd and 3rd PCIe slots will be running in 8x, so it will be 16x/8x/8x. However this will not affect the performance of SLI 275's, as they run fine in 8x mode. As far as memory goes, my personal favourite is the Corsair Dominator line, however any Corsair, OCZ, Mushkin, Gskill memory are good. I do recommend just sticking with a 6GB kit though, 12GB will make it harder to overclock. Also 1600Mhz memory is the sweet spot, to give you enough headroom to get up to 4.2Ghz+ overclocks, without being 1866 or 2000Mhz which can be hard to get to run at spec. So just go for a good brand 6GB 1600mhz tri channel kit.

there have been people running the i9 test version only on the classified. So i'm thinking that we won't have to but new boards. I don't know if i'd wait though. You can get an i7 920 do at microcenter for $200. If you don't live close to one thats no problem as many members here do and often post when they are going. At that price, you could sell the i7 once the i9 comes out and really not lose much. and the 275s don't even take the full 8 lanes, so you don't have to worry about the 16 lanes.

i checked microcenter online and they dont even have it listed, and there is one around here about a 2hr drive, hmmm decisions... anyone getting one soon from micro heh? anyone know if the gt300's will max out the x16 lanes? i read somewhere that the 295's almost use either the full 8 lanes or 16 lanes, anyone clear this up for me? reason i ask is i plan to SLI in the future and with the 300s coming out.

i've heard that the 295 takes like 9 lanes, but i can't back that up. and at microcenter.com you have to pick the closest store at the top so you can see the i7.

Everyone -- would it not be strange for such a monsterously high volume retailer like Newegg to still have C0s in stock? I got a D0 Oct. 4, 2009, but then maybe they like me best....
