Interesting, wonder if that in any way lends to 3.0 making its way to "supported". First I've heard of this little "e" with the x79 chipset. Thx for the read.

mikejustis Sorry for being stupid but to us people that live 90% of their time in the woods and desert (literately) what does this mean? OK, if you have an SSD TRIM is enabled automatically if you have Windows 7. However if you put two of these (SSDs) in a RAID configuration TRIM doesn't work. That is what Intel needs to fix.

The exact wording from Intel said that a new irst driver would bring trim to the x79, not a new irste. It would be great to get rid of those e drivers once and for all.

Hopefully. I have not used the e driver since day one. The 11.2 gives much better performance imho. They only started with these e drivers when the x79 dropped.

Most of them, however, are the expensive ones with really good ITGC though...

4k write speeds are about 50% faster with the standard 11 series driver for me, can be even more for the 4k to 64 thrd numbers. Read is much closer, a little better with the 11 series.

That is good news, well at least for the new adopters of x79. I am really buoyed with joy for you guys. Hopefully something will happen with the x58 platform users too. if not then I may look into upgrading although I feel strongly that I should not need to yet though.

No, since Revodrive uses its own SATA controller. This is for Intel ICH based SATA controllers.

Good news everywhere for people who have money to invest and need for X79 platform, of course new 3970X CPU with 3.5GHz Clock 4.0GHz Turbo and, 12 logical cores with HT, 15MB L3 cache and motherboard stay for 3970X successor in some IB-E model probably 6 months after first 2-3.
