So for the past 2 years I've been very intrigued by the amount of wooden cases(scratch builds) that have been made around the internet. Mine isn't as complex as most of them out there, but overall I do take a lot of pride in my work.

I'm here to present to you my second scratch wooden build. My first resembled a huge Mountain Mods case, but this time around I wanted something around the size of an 800D so I could put it on my desk.

With the process of building a new case I also made sure that I would put new parts in it and try to transfer over as little as I could. The build consist of:

My custom wooden case consist of a Red Mahogany stained Red Oak and the panels are Ebony stained Pine.

Asus Rampage IV Formula
Intel Core i7 3820 @ 4.625Ghz
16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2000MHz
2 x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @ 850MHz
Corsair Force GT 120GB
Corsair AX1200
WD 750GB Black
WD 500GB Blue
3 x Lite-On DVD-RW
2 x Kaze Master Pro Fan Controllers
Full custom watercooling setup

Hopefully I can give you guys an update soon. The update will consist of putting a piece of plexi at the open side of the case and then there will be white plexi to hide most of the wires and whatnot. It will also be used as something to section off the mobo and everything from everything else.

I think it would look nice if you got some fan grills to protect the fans on the top of the case from fingers and such, either way great looking case and very nice craftmanship

I'm probably going to be putting some good fan filters on the top. I like the look of the blacked out fan grills, but they have no protection against dust.

Have long thought about doing a wooden case.. my main concern is the wood warping from the heat :/

This is my second wooden build and I haven't had any experience with wood warping from heat. It may be because of the stains and clear coats I've put on them, but so far everything has been fine.

Always a fan of wood working. Pretty cool build a quad rad up top, is that a triple rad in the bottom? Nice job man!

I have yet to put a quad on the top, but I made room for it in the future and there are 2 RX360 rads on the bottom.

I'm thinking that you would only need to cut 1-2 holes and you could use a modular motherboard tray from mountain mods and a psu bracket from lian li.
