You should post your system specs.

That card is working overtime. Bench it, you might break the world record.

haha, i wish that would break the world record. there is a reason why that GPU currently resides in my friends gaming computer now. i have since then replaced it with 2 GTX 550ti's in SLI.

Also in case your curious, my system specs have been posted elsewhere, but for short, it's a Asus P6T mobo, intel core i7 920 D0, 2 GTX 550ti's(EVGA), a WD 5000AAKS, a WD10EADS, some 250 GB WD, 3 gb of Corsair Dominator ram and a BFG 1000 watt PSU. CPU OC'ed to 3.8 GHZ, ram OCed in XMP to 944 mhz i think(clocked at 1806 in bios, timing is 9-9-9-24), base clock was 180 with mutiplier set at 21), gpu's running at 970 MHZ and memory running at 2,200 MHZ.

as you'll notice, the 9600 was ditched. my friend has it now running at 760 mhz. although it runs hot at 80 C.

I've had that happen a few times with an old GTS 250.  Was always when I was riding the fine edge of stability.  Got some wicked speeds by keeping an eye on that and lightly tweaking values.

Sometimes the old cards will just surprise you.  For the longest time, my old GTS 250 was the highest OC'ing card I had: stock GPU speed of 738 and I had it able to do 800.  800 core, 2000 shader, 1100 memory, faster than lightning.  Oh, and showing (for me, usually) about 1580% GPU usage.

Had that happen on my old GTX 275. But it was generally using over 1,000,000 % usage.

got to remember, the cards have been switched since then, but whats funny is it did run at ultra for some time, but it was most stable on high. it's been ditched for the dual GTX 550ti's in SLI

I've had stuff like that happen when I update the drivers without disabling precision, disabling and re-starting fixed that for me however.
