Quick reminder that the next event in the PrimeGrid Challenge Series, the Olympics, is taking place 8/3-8/5, starting and ending at 18:00 UTC (11:00AM Pacific Time).  Make sure you are crunching PrimeGrid under crunching@evga and have PrimeGrid set to run the TRP sieve project (CPU only, avg 4-5 hr completion time).  Only projects downloaded AND completed during the time frame will count.

I'm in for this one since it's a CPU challenge.  Someone make sure to bump this thread a day or so before it starts so I don't forget.

I see that they recommend running at least one unit prior to the contest so that you download the client ahead of time.  It's around 35MB and they want the server bandwidth going to WU during the contest rather than to client downloads.  I'll be doing that tomorrow morning so I'll be all set before it starts.

Thanks for the reminder - I tried to set up to run TRP Sieve but each WU fails immediately with "computation error".  I posted on the primegrid site to see if they can debug this.

Punchy. no problems here. I'm running 12 threads over 2 rigs with several completed. No errors yet. I just started this morning.

Got it set up and will move the CPU's over.  Hopefully no errors.

Got it all setup on two systems.... My 920 is too loud without a case just idling, so I doubt I'll be crunching on it anymore unless I can quiet the fans some.... I won't be able to start it when the challenge starts so I'll jus let it run.... Worse case I get tasks just before it starts and won't get points until 5-6 hours in.... My 3770 was sitting at 30% with 45 minutes into a task earlier today....

And off topic, but I finished a gfn world record task, just under 200 hours for about 300k....

Another warning: the countdown clock at primegrid.com says it's just over an hour to start time, so I believe 18:00 UTC actually corresponds to 11AM Pacific time (PDT = UTC - 7).  The OP is correct that it starts at 10AM PST, but apparently we're not on standard time at the moment.

No errors so far.  Running ~8100 seconds per WU on a 2600K @ 4.7GHz
 
On track to complete ~22K credits per day.  Only running 7 cores.

on your primegrid settings, do you have the box for cpu checked in the top?
Same thing happened to me earlier today when I set it all up

Got it.  I just had to wait a bit for it to download WU's.

Bringing it with 36 threads and it's damn hot. Oh well............

Just go to www.primegrid.com and look in the upper right block.  Underneath the countdown clock are links to participant and team stats.

What are some of your averaged completion times per WU? I see Staypuft* post, burning it up @ 2.25hrs/WU.
