I still get the bug on occasion when booting from cold. A reboot always fixes it though. No settings have been changed.

Cold boot is the biggest issue, which I do a lot. It's almost 50% of the time I have to boot/reboot for it to work. Then, I get only some of the ports working.

Latest drivers 1.14.10.0 doesn't have this cold boot issue. Booted up a few times over the pass 3 days with all items enabled and onboard for the day.

EVGA_JacobF Below is a firmware/driver update for the ASmedia USB 3.0 controller on EVGA X79 motherboards. This update improves USB 3.0 stability in some situations. The single update below will update the firmware and driver for the USB 3.0 controller. Driver 1.14.8 / Firmware 1220E Also, I want to thank those users in the community who helped to find this solution. Fix the damn USB issues with my EVGA X58 E762 motherboard! Sheesh.

Alright, I have been testing OC's all morning trying to figure this out. I have narrowed it down to this splash screen - when I see the "Marvell adapter" load before I see the x79 FTW splash screen before windows loads, everything works well (USB 3.0 ports, eSATA ports, etc all work). If that Marvell adapater doesn't load, then my USB 3.0 and eSATA ports don't see a thing and the USB 3.0 hub doesn't load either. I thought it was a memory thing (setting up my Rip Jaws). I am overclocking to 4.2 on a 3930 with 2133 Rip Jaws. I reset to default bios, then clocked the memory manually to 2133. No issues - everything loaded. If i tried to OC my processor and NOT set my memory manually (keep it auto), the Marvell adapter would not load and everything failed to work (USB 3.0 and eSATA). I am going to go back and start a fresh OC with the memory at 2133 and find out at what point my CPU OC is keeping the Marvell adapter from loading.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that I had upgradded the FW (.95) and the driver that was previously posted. I tried OC-ing the processor. It seems to work fine - running intel burn test now. I now think it is a voltage issue. I have the voltages on auto right now. My standard load (4.2 and 2133) have manual voltages and the Marvell adapter doesn't load then.

UPDATE: It must be a voltage issue. I am back up to 4.4 on my OC with good intelburntest results. Everything loaded fine. The only difference in my BIOS setups is my voltage between my original OC and the current one (where voltages are ALL on auto EXCEPT for the standard 1.65 for RAM). I might spend some time tonight trying to figure out which voltage is tripping it. For those having issues, maybe start your OC over again. I know that I am not an expert and that some things are coincidence and not directly related, but my trial and error here has narrowed down my USB 3.0 problem AND I get to have my 2133+ RAM setting. Can't ask for anything better.

Glad to hear that your USB 3.0 issues are resolved. I, myself updated to the VIA labs firmware and installed the USB 3.0 drivers from the X79 Asus Rampage Extreme IV board and my now my USB 3.0 is stable. Typically, I would see a USB drop within a day but it has been a week now and things are looking good.

Are you saying you loaded drivers from the RIVE and it fixed your USB 3.0 issues on your eVGA X79??? If this is the case, could you perhaps give a rundown of exactly what you did to get to this point? I'd sure love to get my USB 3.0 ports to quit dropping out!!! Thanks!

randman76 Sure. Below are the steps I took in the exact order. 1. Downloaded and installed the new drivers provided by EVGA previously in this thread. 2. Flashed firmware from VIA labs 3. Power cycled the machine 4. Uninstalled the USB 3.0 drivers 5. Download and install Asus USB 3.0 drivers from Asus Rampage Extreme IV (X79) 5. Reboot the machine I would typically get a USB 3.0 disconnect at least once a day but since last Sunday when I did all this it has been fully stable. Good luck! I followed these instructions and it fixed the USB 3.0 drop. Thank you!!!

What type of behavior? If it makes the board worse I have time to ship this thing back and just switch to the Asus board I have been eye-balling.
