A little Sad :( Wednesday, July 04, 2012 7:06 AM (permalink)
Happy 4th of July all :)

Has anyone on here played The Secret World?? Im not sure if its the game or my system but with the new BETA drivers and SLI enabled, when I play this game I get terrible stuttering. One second I will be running smooth at 60 FPS then it will hitch and drop to like 45-50 then bounce around there for a couple seconds then back up to 60 FPS, then repeats  :( Makes the game not very fun to play...

I for sure thought I would be able to max this game out with 2 GTX 580SC's in SLI  :(

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

Have never had to do that, so I have never tried to be honest. All the games I currently play run flawlessly (BF3, Rift, Tera, MP3, Diablo 3) all maxed out.

I am hoping its just the game .....

Okay well it's one of the things suggested in the troubleshooting faq, I have the problem as well on FF XIV but it didn't help my issue which I still have...

Makes me wish I tried this on my main rig, but I just played the BETA on my Alienware M18X R2 with 7970M crossfire, which worked fine without microstuttering/framerate drops that you are describing.

Have you tried the latest BETA drivers from Nvidia? I could have sworn I read that they added an SLI profile for this game.

YES - 304.79 adds an SLI profile. Here is a link to the 64 bit download.

Yeah I've got the latest Beta's. They seem to do the exact same thing as when I was manually forcing AFR2 in the control panel. SLI picks up using about 60-70% on each card (vsync) but I get the stupid stuttering. Its not microstuttering as the FPS bounce all over the place. Usually with microstuttering the frames stay close together like 58-60 FPS but this goes from 60 FPS down to 40 to 45 back up to 60 back down to 55 etc.

Im gonna try it again tonight with 1 card disabled and see what happens. Maybe the game just doesnt like SLI that much right now
