750i SLI, freeze and post code 29 Monday, July 02, 2012 9:24 AM (permalink)
Hello,  I have a Evga 750i FTW ed board.  The situation I've ran into the past week is My system will randomly freeze, the HDD's will stop spinning and when I manually shut down my system and restart it the screen is black and gives me a post code of 29.  I've tried different ports for the HDD, moved my gfx card to the other pcix slot, all the fans are working.  and I'm unable to figure out what the post code 29 actually does.  Any help would be awesome.

In your device manager look and see if the sata controller drivers are from NVIDIA or Microsoft. If they are NVIDIA try reverting to the generic Microsoft controllers instead.

I can't get the system to boot as of now, If I unplug the psu for a while I can get my pc to give me a post beep, but then it stops and won't go to load any of my drives, ect.  If i restart it at that point it simply gives me a blank screen and a text input blinker, similar to dos,  at 1st i thought it was my gfx card, but i replaced that and it did the same thing.

I would start with completely clearing CMOS by turning off and unplugging the PSU and then removing the mobo battery for about 10 minutes..Reverse proceedure and power up..I would also reseat the RAM during the 10 minute wait..See what happens then.
