Hello everyone, I've been doing some searching and i cant find a solution to my problem. I just set up my new 4p monster, and im having trouble seeing it on my network, so that i can monitor it over hfm on my main computer. I can see my main pc on the 4p monster, but not the other way around. I am using 10.10, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks bob

Did you share the F@H folder? From the file manager, you right click on the folder and sharing should be one of the options. That's one of the steps - and if I recall correctly, on 10.10, you will then be prompted to download some packages to enable sharing. Once you have the share set up, you can easily to it by \\ip-address\foldername from in the HFM add client screen.

If, from a DOS prompt, you do "dir \\ip_address\foldername" (e.g. "\\10.0.0.112\fah", do you get "the network path was not found", meaning Samba probably isn't running, or do you get an authentication error, meaning user/password issues? On the Linux system, if you do "ps -ef | grep smbd" do you see any running instances of smbd (the Samba daemon)?

Haven't tried my new 4p with 10.10 yet. Any ideas. Not trying to hijack, it's related

I looked at my install like this: It had only been running for 2 days, so i threw up the -oneunit flag, and re-formated the drive then reinstalled the OS. It must have been a setting that i did when i first started.
