Headset woes Friday, June 29, 2012 4:07 PM (permalink)
Has anybody else ever had some bad experiences with a headset? Here is my most recent issue from the headset that I won not too long ago. (Psyko Kryptons)

Anybody else have something similar happen to them with one of your own headsets? Or any funny stories to tell about it? haha

I stepped on my audio technicas. But I fixed them with a wood burner and a piece of Lego.

Wait so you melted the lego piece to sort of "solder" it back together? haha nice!

When I first saw that residue my initial thought was that you needed to clean the wax out of your ears....j/k

Was any of that cracking on the waveguide due to anything you did, or did it just happen over time?

I was about to offer you a set of gel filled ear covers from an old Dave Clark headset I have but I don't think they would do you much good at this point, that headset looks a bit past it's expiration date

If you see the video, its from how it is on my head. As far as I know, its not too common for people to have cone heads to where the headset wouldn't need to bend to that 90' i was talking about to get it on my head.

No, it hasn't been by anything i did, I treated these puppies like gold! A small crack formed around 4 months, and it just got worse from there. Both sides too.

On the flip side you only spent $200 bucks on it XD. why not just buy some 3M epoxy for plastics or "weld". That stuff works wonders and it's usually around $5.

My bad experience with headphones is I sometimes accidently pull on the wire when I wear them, I've broken them before doing this, so finally I decided to get a set of Sony XB300's which have a thick flat style cable so its alot more durable.
