Classified 3 Help? Thursday, June 28, 2012 5:33 PM (permalink)
My Classified 3 board might be blown. All of the capacitors look ok, but my PC won't boot. I originally thought it was my PSU, and when I tested it there was no voltage. I bought a new one, hooked it all back up and my comp still won't boot. At all. The only LED that lights up on my board is labled as LED3, and is located right below the ram slots. I can't seem to find what that LED is in the manual, or what it means that it's the only one that lights up.

Before I go buying new parts, I want to make sure that the board is the problem, and then I hope that it didn't fry my CPU and all as well. I have no idea how this happened. The day before, my computer was working fine. I shut it off at night because my internet was down, (Down all the next day too, so I never bothered turning it on. Multiple PCs in the house, so I knew when it was back up.) When the internet came back, my PC wouldn't turn on. We had no storms or power surges in that time. It just...Died.

So..any suggestions?

What all do you have in your system?

So no red flashing e on the heatsink and no codes showing on the debug display
Does the PSUs fan start when you hit the power button?
Did you check for any damage around the 24 pin connector?

I'm running an i7 990, an OCZ SSD, 2 2TB WD hdd in raid 0, 12 GB Corsair Dominator, 1200w Corsair PSU(Brand new today), and an EVGA 590 GPU.

I saw no damage around any of the power connectors, and no fans of any kind kick on.

And no, no red flashing E or anything on the debug.

        Have any storms/power surges?
Have you tried using the power button that is on the board itself? Don't know if it would make a difference though, if you've checked all of your connections and stil nothing it may be worth it to call to EVGA tech support. Your led's not lighting up (except for the one) doesn't sound promising. If your old PSU crapped out it may have burnt something else out in the process.

Yea, no powersurges or anything like that. I guess I'll get a hold of EVGA support. Thanks for the help Flyer.

Sounds like a bad PSU or your motherboard is shorted.  My first classified3 had a short in the 24 pin connector if the case got bumped or the 24 pin moved at all it would shutdown.  I RMAed the board and havent had a issue since.  In  your case its either your board or PSU since youve changed out the PSU the only other part i could be is the board.  I would RMA the board.  Let us know how it works out.
