EVGA FTW 3 Audio not working

I can't get the mobo to recognize its own analog ports on the back panel. I just tested my speakers they work when plugged into an ipod. I plug them into the correct position on the back panel and nothing. The computer doesn't even recognize that speakers have been plugged in. I searched the forums and there were people with identical problems, but no real solutions were offered. I saw that using the Sata III ports could cause it not to work or having an analog front panel plugged in might mess it up. I'm using a HAF 932 case with its front audio ports plugged in and I have two devices in the sata III ports. This is a clean install with everything working properly. I already downloaded all of EVGA's listed drivers and realtek's HD drivers. Everything is up to date and working... Except the audio!!!

Try disconnecting the front panel header and make sure you are using the green port.

I completely disconnected the front panel header and pulled it out of my case. I have to use the mobo to turn it on and off. Checked the plug was in the right place, it is. Still, my speakers are not being recognized. This seems to be a common problem but every thread I find on it seems to dead end.
