Can I use all 6 slots of dimm slots in my e758 without problems? Saturday, June 23, 2012 3:33 PM (permalink)
I'm trying to use more ram, preferably 24 gigs of ram. Would I face any problems using all my dimm slots or have it hinder my performance in anyway? I heard it puts more strain on my cpu if I used all 6 slots. It's hard to find 3 x 8 ram sticks at 1600.

Does anyone know any good 3 x 8 at 1600 out there? I'm having no luck in finding any

No it will not hamper your performance in any way. It puts more strain on the IMC and all that means is it needs a little more voltage. Nothing to be concerned about. However, be warned it can hamper overclocking. Had a CPU where I could not get more than 3.77GHz Stable with all slots filled with 12GB of RAM. If you are not overclocking then I would not be concerned about it.
This RAM here is good from a good company.

Alternatively if you want three sticks to put less strain on the memory controller and you're happy with PC3 12800 then just buy three sticks of these:
