Difference between 680 SC+ & FTW

Difference between 680 SC+ & FTW Saturday, June 02, 2012 10:05 AM (permalink)
im looking at the stat page and the clocks are the same on the SC and the FTW edition could someone tell me what the difference would be ? im currently waiting on the Classy to upgrade from my 580 but if it ends up not being what i want i was thinking of the FTW but i cant seem to find the difference in the models can anyone hook it up with some info :D

    The FTW versions have 8-phase VRM and vapor chamber cooling. These are the differences I know of.

      I'm assuming the vapor chamber will provide superior cooling then just the standard fan on it's own ?

        Should help a bit yes. Around 5-6 °C from what I've heard, but if somebody was lucky enough to have got the chance for real comparison, his findings would be welcome. :)

          Does the 680 FTW include the backplate? Anyone know?

            The 4GB version does, the 2GB version doesn't.
             
            But I really hope EVGA will sell a backplate for the 2GB version.

              Anyone? It doesn't say in the description. I have it in my cart and I'm ready to buy it, but not for $570.00 if it doesn't include a backplate!!

                You sure? It's hard to tell but, in the one picture it looks like it does if you look close at the one corner.

                      the 2gb does not have the backplate.
