Max Threads Supported? Monday, May 21, 2012 2:40 AM (permalink)
Hello everyone. I'm trying to get Left 4 Dead 2 to work on my new system, but an error message pops up with this:

Out of thread ids. Decrease the number of threads or increase MAX_THREADS_SUPPORTED

Where would I have to go to change this setting?

System:
EVGA SR-X
2x E5 2670
64GB Ram

Thanks in advance.

I do not know if this will work, but you can try either of this:

    1. Use ProcessLasso or Task manager to lock number of threads running the L4D2.exe
    2. You can also go into Bios and disable the number of active cores.. This eliminates the point using a SR-X motherboard..
I would try #1 at first.. if that does not work, I would try #2 or skip playing the game..

I was able to launch L4D2 after I disabled CPU01 on the board by changing the connector to disable.
So the game works with just one cpu, but not with both.
