I would love for FB to go down for an extended period of time and see how many people jump off of extremely high objects.

Well, looks like the IPO is falling on it's face with losing 20%+ of it's value so far. I really am laughing on the inside at the moment that the media played everyone for fools. Media outlets with social media on the brain. Social media is just another form of communication. They treat it like it's the savior of everyone.

I was having breakfast with my family this past Sunday at IHOP. At another table were four ladies. It appearred to be a grandmother, mother, adult daughter, and teenage daughter. The grandmother sat staring into space as all three of the other ladies were on FB on their smart phones. They did this the entire time they were there. Stopping only to shovel food in their mouths. My wife teared up and said how she would give anything to have breakfast with her mother one more time. That's just one of the many reasons I hate FB.

Dude I hear ya exactly. It is sad. Even texting.

Both can be used for great things, such as keeping in touch with family in other states, etc. Or while their son is in Iraq, etc. But man, so many people live on Fb.

I seen that exact situation. While eating, a husband acted like he loved his family so much, he just wanted to talk, and socialize, but the WHOLE time, the wife, and daughter acted like he was nothing, compared to Fb. Like you and your wife said, what IF that was those womens last time ever to see the grandma? How would they feel? Prolly like complete crap, well that's if they have a heart.

Those three may realize when they are older that they messed up when they get older, I am lucky to post anything on Facebook more than once every other week. Hope Facebook crash and burns. I'm only 25, be 26 in a few months, but I miss the 90's as far as family relations go.
