480 GTX no display

I have a 480 gtx that give me no display on boot. Computer posts, and I assume it load into windows. It just gives me no video. It worked before but I installed a aftermarket cooler. Thats when It stopped working. I also had to drill out all the screws because they would not come out. Now I tested the card after I had finished drilling (with the stock cooler) it worked. So I installed the aftermarket cooler. It worked for the night, I shut off the computer. Next day i took the card out because I was having freezing. I find out its because the ram was not getting along. So I installed the card again and no display. Attacked the original heatsink and still nothing. Any ideas? Also if something is broken can I have it repaired at any places you know of? Thanks

Is the card getting hotter? What aftermarket cooler did you use? Was there anything damage/removed from the the card while "drilling." Are you sure the aftermarket cooler is on and has full contact with the GPU?

But i did have to drill into the card a bit, but away from the circuity. The aftermarket cooler was returned and stock was put back on.

Looks like something burnt out. Also, that drilling you did into the PCB is likely the cause to your issues.

But he said he tested it after he drilled it and it was working. Did you check your temps after you changed to the aftermarket cooler? was it getting hot?

nope ran at a nice and cool 30-40C. The last thing i did before it stopped working was take it out of my computer. I thought it could be a power rail, so i changed to a different rail and still the same issue. And I have a 750w continuous psu.

Well, since it powers on and it does not display anything, I don't think it's the PSU. With that black residue though, it makes me think something gave out while it was on. I'd give EVGA a call and see what they have to say about it.

They may charge you a reasonable price to repair it. Did you try your dvi/vga line in both dvi connections on the card, or just the one?
