I absolutely LOVE the beta! And thats saying for a console game, so, the PC version will probably be much better. It seems fairly solid to me, theres only some minor issues and some graphical glitching, but overall I cant wait for it to be out for real. My only beef gameplay wise is that there seems to be snipers everywhere, and theres still the annoying only being able to spawn on a sniper far out from the fight thing from Bad Company 1, but it is much better when you have a full squad (of not all snipers) who dont all die at the same time.

i definitely pre-ordered. if you havent already, head over to www.fileplanet.com and get in on the PS3 beta (if you have a ps3). I did and im not gonna lie, its extremely fun and addicting. Definitely more worth it compared to MW2 imo :)

I couldnt agree with you more.. but EA can fix that by either: a) toning down the amount of dmg per shot (one shot kills from snipers 1000y away isnt much fun) b) when in scope mode.. limit the sight distance or visable targets. c) Reduce the amount of ammo their allowed to carry. That forces the snipers to move around and find ammo that other snipers drop.

Anyone else think the PS3 graphics are fairly bad? There are serious jaggies everywhere. Main complaint so far is way to many people think being a sniper is cool, it's not, seriously get in on the action and help out the team.

"Hey all, We wanted to update you, and slow the flood of tweets, on questions surrounding the BFBC2 PC Beta being cancelled. I'll get right to it and say "the BFBC2 PC Beta is not cancelled". Now this all started due to changes made to an earlier blog that removed the PC Beta from the details and the reason for this was the plan changed. With the huge success of the PS3 Beta we decided to drastically increase the PC Beta's capacity to insure as many people as possible could participate. Unfortunately this meant we had to delay the Beta to very early next year giving us more planning time to make it happen and implement more optimizations. Here is a recap of the current PC features, and we can now confirm DX11 support with more details to come later! PC Enhanced Features - Up to 32 Players on PC (24 on consoles) - Play with up to 32 players online in the biggest multiplayer Maps in Battlefield. Each with a different tactical and gameplay focus set across a variety of environments.
- Full DirectX 9, 10 & 11 Support - Immerse yourself in the Battlefield world as Frostbite engine brings tanks, helicopters and explosions to vivid life on your PC. The game will fully support Windows XP, Vista, and 7 with new tech that further improves things like lighting and shadows.
- Enhanced Gameplay - The PC version also includes wide peripheral support like Joysticks for flying, NVIDIA 3D Vision, Logitech LCD Keyboards and VoIP Support plus a variety of specific features tailored for PC play.
- Friend Support - Find your friends online with the new buddy list to see if and who is online so you can quickly join their game.
- Dedicated Ranked Server - Everyone gets non-stop action with no connection penalties based on some other player's internet. Ranked Server Provider program will give players opportunity to rent their own server(s) located in professional grade datacenters, ability to modify settings like map rotation, create reserved slots for friends or clan members, kick & Ban players, and custom name your ranked server.
- Clan Support & Private Servers - Independent Clan Tag, and ability to rent servers for hosting and controlling private password protected competitive servers with expanded control over the settings from public ranked servers.
- PC Squad Play System - Updated from previous Battlefield PC titles now gives control of your squad before heading into combat."

most of that looks good but only 32 man.....with the size of BF maps there is no reason not to have a 64 player cap on PC, this is not going to be the 10'x10' maps they have in CoD. bummed the beta is pushed back but still cant wait to play it Thanks for the info

Yeah, thats disappointing that the PC wont see the beta for a while longer. Im also disappointed that the ranks and unlocks were reset, I was having some fun running around with the M1A1 Thompson earlier. But, I guess thats somewhat expected in a beta. I feel like its not permanent, though, as I played through a round back at rank 1 and I didnt get any points awarded at the end of the round so something must be having an issue and maybe theyll be able to restore it.

I really am not upset they delayed it,makes me feel more comfortable they are trying to get it good enough for us TRUE PC gamers that love military FPS games. I wouldn't of pre-ordered it this far in advance

im not bothered about the delay, its worth the wait. also i knew it wasnt goin to be 64 man. if it was, i would bet it would have graphics alot worse and no use of physics, and not anywhere near as many particles. standing on a battlefield from bfbc2 and 64 ppl would give really low frames, even with a highend system. i hope by the time bf3 rolls out it will be possible to have graphics that looked as good as bf2 did when it cameout on highest settings and 64 ppl.
